This is absurd. A token fee of maybe 15 or 20 percent might be fair compensation, but 40 to 60 percent??? That's just wrong.

I think anything would be too much.
Funny how it took someone, what?... 25 years to say, "hey, that flute part sounds like this children's song!".

Amazingly bad. Someone is going to have to explain plagiarism to me one of these days because by now, there are probably what--one million songs? Two million songs written over the course of time? There's bound to be overlap and someone is going to sue over 5 seconds of copy? What kind of plagiarism cage match are they going to have when someone wants to sue over a BLUES song? Can you imagine?

Yeah.... at this point, "plagiarism" can only be defined as similarities that are so obvious that you can claim both pieces are nearly identical. A three-second riff can not be plagiarized. If this is the accepted yardstick by which plagiarism is measured, then lawsuits would abound in the music industry.

Right. How many times have you been listening to a song and say 'that sounds just like...'? It happens alot. If it is blatant, then of course it's a different matter. To wit: Yoko's "Yes I'm Your Angel" is "Makin' Whoopee" (which she was sued over and lost).

Nice weather we're having in Burbank tonite eh?
In a similiar vein, Bob Daisley & Lee Kerslakes bass & drum parts were re-recorded on the 1st 2 Ozzy albums, so they couldn't get or sue for more royalties I surmise. Interesting how Oz was ripped off blind in the early 70's, then he turns round & does this. Hmmm.

It was a little too warm today for February :wink2:. 10° cooler and I'd have been happy.
But it's been nice for the most part.

There's a great memorabilia & model sort of store on Magnolia, near B of A. Models of movie & comic book charaters in miniature. Also loads of old 11 X 14 photos of mainly 60's & 70's Tv show characters. TOS, Dr Who, original Batman & Avengers & so on. Some Star Wars figures & lifesize Phasers. Fun place. Just west of the bank.
I got a Tom Baker 11x14 from The Deadly Assassin complete with the elaborate headwear of the Timelords, very rare. My favorite episode, well a tie with City of Death. & an incredible Alyssa Milano 4x6.
Bout halfway down you can see the wonderful costumes.

Didn't see any Beatles stuff, but worth a look.
