Does anyone have an mp3 of "ATMP" from the near the end of Jan.'69 with John, Paul and George all taking a line each from the first verse? I'd love to hear this, but have never been able to find it.Yes, I'm one of those who actually prefer the Beatles version to Georges (apologies to one FPSHOT!)

graemlins/smile1.gif appologies not needed, he tried them but thought 'nah better do that one myself'.
I will have a look in my catalogue.
You don't mean maybe the one where Paul does these horrible backing 'ahhh' vocals? (kidding)

No, this is one where apparently, John sings the first "Sunrise doesnt..." line, Paul sings "A cloudburst..." then George takes over. Ive always found it strange they did it like that ONCE and never again...maybe it stunk, I dunno! I'd love to hear it though!

I might have that one somewhere. I don't know where you can download it from. A search on WinMX might turn into a nightmare, "no this is not it, what about the other one I've downloaded, no that's not the one either".
See if I really have the one you want, if it is not a very big file I can upload it for you on my website.

.<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Yeah, that was the problem. Actually I found my favorite versions from a website called "Plastic Soul" I believe. You know, back when they let you put music on a website.
Thanks, BTW!

Amamzing they found electrocution so funny!

Off topic, but there is also one from ATMP - the song, where George starts talkingn about recording an album of his own, because he has so many songs and wants to find out how it will sound and to get them out of the way.
John agrees and mentiones that in such a case George can just add whichever musical parts in it that he himself wants to. Even Yoko says it's a good idea.
George adds; it may be good for all of them to do it.

Yes, isnt this where they get the idea (discarded, unfortunately) that by recording whatever they want, solo-wise, it would help "preserve the Beatles bit of it longer"? I always wonder why they didn't take their own advise.

George says: 'I could do them all in a week, record and mix they're very simple, don't think they need much'
That part on WinMX is listed as George "talks about a solo album"

The part "George talks about a solo album" is on the bootleg "All Things Must Pass Part 1 -ELECTRIC SET". When I heard it, I also thougth it was a shame that they didn't follow their own advise. You know, get a break from each other, do your own stuff let things relax a little bit, then after some time come back together and do another beatles album.
graemlins/lightbulb.gif perhaps the version you mean is on "ATMP part 1".

The second one isn't it, and the third one is the one with John's organ, sounds like a mellotron, and George being electrocuted.
I believe Paul says, If this boy dies, you're gonna cope it". Which I think means, you'll regret it.
Next bootleg...

I found it, don't know the date, but it must be January, as that was the month the Get Back sessions took place.
Here is the song, download begins when you click on it.
All things must pass. George Harrison with John and Paul (http://www.home.zonnet.nl/carryingwords/atmp.mp3)
It's not my favourite version, Paul is very annoying throughout it, not an inspiring version but have a listen. I had to cut some off, cause the file was to large for me to upload, but don't worry the performance is in tact, it is just some talking at the beginning, and some annoying Paul making noises at the end.

Hey, thanks! Yeah, Paul spends the track acting like a jackass. He wouldnt have tolerated that for "Maxwells Silver Hammer" would he? You can take it down if you need, I got a copy, and I really appreciate it! Thanks!

I can't believe I missed all this last night!
I too really ejoy the Beatles' version of this song. It could have really worked. And all those things George says about a solo album and recording it in two weeks...that's great secret info we only get because all those sessoins were taped. Thank God for bootleggers images/icons/smile.gif .
The Feb. '69 version is a demo. That's the version on Anthology 3. I don't know what Lewisohn was talking about. I don't think he's as reliable for GB session stuff cuz so little of it was taped on multi-track tape.
There are at least four versions of "All Things Must Pass" from Jan. 29th. It does seem odd. I have them on DbD vol. 37, but it's just the straight Nagra rolls...sorry!
