Has anyone else heard about this new 6 CD set from Silent Sea? Its supposed to have better sound quality than previous releases, and kind of be the 'best of Get Back'. Apparently it has more chat than "Thirty Days" did, more uninterrupted stuff.
I'll give you some tracks I know of on it tomorrow, but this sounds like what us Get Back fans have been waiting for. Well, those of us waffling on getting 30 Days anyway!

I thought the day by day series was what the Get Back fans were waiting for. How can this be any better then what Yellow Dog already has released. Even 30 disc with 17 disc, seems to be more then what can be on 6 discs. But maybe I am thinking to logical.

I'm just saying, the Day by Day series is a daunting task for most to try to wade thru; Im sure a lot of otherwise interested folk were scared off by the sheer HUGENESS of the series. I just think Silent Sea have done a good job on things that should have seemed obvious, so maybe this will be a great set. I DO know theres no notes with the Nagra set, only an alphabetical list of tracks. (?)

no, i hadn't heard of that, but everyone is talking about Silet Sea stuff these days. apparently the quality is remarkable.

but i agree, why do we need ANOTHER "greatest hits" get back sessions multi-disc set? day by day is the GB nagra reel standard, despite its hugeness. but, it's very nature means that it must be huge.

Has 'Silent Sea' been on the market long?

I have found this overview

http://www.fabfour.de/labels/silent/silent.htm

May be a stupid remark, but is it possible that 'Silent Sea' is a new name for a former label, looking at all happenings with labels taken out of the market?

Secret Tracks duplicates a lot of Silent Sea releases, tracks, title and all except cover designs. And I dont think Secret Tracks has had a release in some time, so who knows. I've really enjoyed most of their stuff though.

yeah, i have the "white sessions," which i had on my tradelist as being silent sea, but then i noticed that the artwork i downloaded was for secret trax. so, i really have no idea which version i have. i could ask the person i got it from, but i haven't a clue who it is any more images/icons/smile.gif

is it secret trax duplicating/copying silent sea or is it the other way around?

It seems to be one and the same outfit, I mean, why would one stand for such blatant copying of the other? Either way, the releases have been almost Yellow Dog par to this point, I've been quite pleased with them. Another Get Back set was bound to happen anyway, with all the publicity the tapes are geting. More Beatles is good Beatles, I think!
