Nowhere Boy receives four Bafta nominations
Nominations for The Baftas, which take place two weeks before the Academy Awards in Hollywood, and are often seen a prediction of possible Oscar winners, were announced today in London.
Sam Taylor-Wood's directional debut film Nowhere Boy, about the early life of late Beatle John Lennon, has received four Bafta nominations, including Best Supporting Actress nominations for Kristin Scott Thomas, who played Aunt Mimi, and Anne-Marie Duff, who played John's mother Julia, Outstanding British Film, and Sam Taylor-Wood for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
Winners of the Baftas are chosen by members of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, apart from the Orange Rising Star category, which is open to the public. The winners will be announced at a star-studded ceremony at the Royal Opera House on February 21.
