I don't know if you could have picked a harder question. I love almost all of those songs! It's pretty hard to just choose 2 as favorites. Finally I picked "To Know Her" as #1 because John sounds AWESOME! My second fave is the Sheik of Araby. It sounds like the lads have a lot of fun with that one. images/icons/smile.gif

I had to choose "Take Good Care" first, since Paul and George sound so good together there. And I dunno why I like "Searchin" but I do! I prefer the BBC version of "To Know Her" though. More powerful to me.

It's not too hard to imagine that John Paul and George pictured themselves as the 3 Cool Cats they sing about.

Memphis and Three Cool Cats as 1 and 2 respectively.
Memphis was one of the songs that John sung well, and obviously loved to sing. This is not his best version, but every version he's done beats Chuck Berry's original!
Three Cool Cats? ... well, I just like it. It's ridiculous, in the best possible sense ...
Great thread! I'd say if you can't vote in this poll because you haven't heard the tracks, then you're not a real Fab Fan. Maybe that's too extreme, but you know what I'm getting at!

So, all of them wasn't an option, huh? I love the Decca recordings! I picked Three Cool Cats as a fave and Searchin' and second fave. "Cats" is just so fun! They seem to really enjoy themselves on this recording.

I picked Sheik of Araby and Three Cool Cats because they are both hilarious to listen to! I've never heard Decca audition recordings of Crying Waiting, Hoping and Sure To Fall, To Know Her Is to Love Her only the BBC radio versions. So I couldn't vote for them, even though I really like the BBC versions.
And I've never even heard Take Good Care of My Baby, or September In the Rain very unfortunately!

i picked besame and three cool cats. i know they didn't write those songs, but they are the most original ones out of that lot. i love john's "hey man save one chick for me." bit. they played all those songs so well.

good question, I've always loved all the 15 decca auditon stuff.
my first choice was "Like Dreamer's Do" it's gotta be Paul's vocal's. It's always been one of my favorties, not to mention Pete's favorite too.
my sscond choice was "Besame Mucho" Paul again,
I think I'm might have a thing for this Paul fellow.. graemlins/inlove7.gif

My first choice was Three Cool Cats. It always makes me smile! My second choice was Take Good Care of My Baby. George's vocals sound so young and fresh.

First choice: No contest..."September in the Rain!" graemlins/teeth1.gif I love, love, LOVE this song! And I'm really surprised I'm the first one to choose it. graemlins/images/icons/frown.gif
Second choice: "Take Good Care Of My Baby." As Hari's Chick said, George is just adorable! And I thought that was one of his best early vocals.
It figures that neither of these songs were chosen for inclusion on "Anthology 1." What were they thinking?!? graemlins/sad2.gif

My first choice was "Love of the Loved." Very sophisticated arrangement and instrumentation for such an early self-penned tune.
2nd choice was "Hello Little Girl," for its Everly Bros. influence and "do-do-do-do-doooooo" ending.
