A few years back, we had a member who posted here regularly named ILUVHARIIN1974. I believe her name is Laura. She had the best site I've ever seen for George pictures, among other features the site had, called Simply Shady Hari. She had George pictures from all kinds of sources that she had scanned, like every rock magazine that ever ran an article on George, even fairly obscure ones, published around the world, plus screencaps, etc. Laura has updated the site several times and, I think, moved it once or twice, always making it even better. Well, I had SSH saved to my favorites--resaved after the times it had been moved--and now, the last link I had saved is dead. I tried to Google "simplyshadyhari.com" and nothing comes up. Is anyone else familiar with the site, and if so, do you know if it's under another name now? I wanted to look up some particular George pics from 1966, and she had the collection well organized by year or by event, like the 1974 tour, etc. I hope she still has it--it is the best on the net.

GG, there was a thread on gh.com about this. So sad, but the photo site has been taken entirely down. :( It truly WAS the best on the net. I visited the site back a couple months ago and found so many nice new pics I had not seen. I always looked for pics in the 90's-on. I was so happy to see she had added some beautiful pics of mature George. I wanted to draw some of them. Wish I had saved them now... boo.

Darn shame. She had some EXCELLENT George pictures and her website was a treasure trove of George pictures, which she had well organized.

I was delighted she had some eye cheering pictures of George in 1965. I am glad I saved some of them, like the one of sexpot George in 1965 in his white shirt and big smile.

It indeed is a pity that the site went down and was btw more than just a picture site.

Here is an alternative.

Thanks for the link. :smile1:

Let's hope ILH1974 comes back. We welcome her to Crackerbox Palace with open arms and big smiles.

Thanks for the link, HC. I am so bummed now. I wonder why she did that? Even if she added nothing else to the site, it would have continued to be a treasure trove for old and new fans alike. I hope she reconsiders--she's a sweet and sensitive lady and I hope nobody hurt her feelings or anything.

Me, too, GG. :( Her site was definitely the best of George. Did you see that Becky on gh.com mentioned she had many photos saved? She seems really sweet- if there were any specific ones you needed I betcha she'd send them your way.

GG and HC, I could not agree with you more. In fact, there are some of Shady's pictures that have appeared here as well. She was really good about sharing George pics and her website had the best arrangement/organization of George pictures I have EVER come across online.

Perhaps if we sing "I Need You" to her, maybe she'll come back?

Wow, I'm sad that site is down. That site was my go-to for George pictures.

Darn shame the site is gone. It was the ideal place to chill with some George pictures.

"there's a place where I can go...."

The website was setup at Geocities which was shut down by Yahoo who owned it and announced the shut down in April 2009 to all website owners.

That may have influenced it, also since the site was not really kept updated and I have not seen her post here or at gh.com in quite a long time.

Breaking news is I am going to try to set one up though, so be patient, hope to have it up before Xmas.
