Hi y'all,

Can anyone tell me what acoustic guitar George favored in 1980? It's for a story I'm writing (the sequel to With Strings Attached, if you're familiar with that). Thanks!

My money would be on the hand-made acoustics, built by British builder, Tony Zemaitis.

I would have thought so, but a list of rockers with his guitars doesn't have George owning one until the mid-1980s. Paul had one slightly earlier than that.

I could be wrong, but I thought he got his first Zemaitis after playing Eric Clapton's 12 string ("Ivan the Terrible") in the late 60s.

I also thought that he was playing a Zemaitis on "Rutland Weekend Television" in the mid 70s... but again - am not 100% sure

Well, you certainly know more than I do! I'm just going by a list I found on the net. I can use this info if no one comes up with a definitive answer--thanks a lot!

well, I found this 1979 video of "Faster".. it shows George playing one of his Z's - the smiley bridge is a dead giveaway.

so, Zemaitis still gets my vote - FWIW...
