i know with stuff like wmv files it can work but can u do the same with mpeg movies? and if so,how?
and another question-is there any kind of mp3 splicing programs?(as in a program that deletes a portion of and /or breaks an mp3 into several of them?
question #1 is because i need some way to fix up a file of the entire shea stadium concert images/icons/smile.gif which leads to question #2 which i also need for those studio session thingies i keep downloading that i want on 2 cds cuz theyre too big for 1
and better yet-is there any way to do #2 with videos? i got a movie to turn into 2 vcds

well, you can go dig for some freebie, but i use sonic foundry to do all my thingys. . . acid, sound forge, vegas. . .
the price for the elemental vers are pretty decent, and it is prob one of the best lines of digital out now.
mebbe somebody knows of a good free vers of editing, but if you got some bucks . . .

The only thing I can think of for recording audio from videos is to,if you have Windows Sound Recorder and a microphone,is to play it and record the audio from the MPEG. You also of course need NO noise other than the MPEG playing on your computer.

I've used Blaze Audio's Power Record to rip from mpegs before. you can also use it to rip from streaming internet audio.
go to download.com and do a search for it. it's freeware but you get lots of free uses, with absolutely no restrictions.
select "stero mix" to record audio playing on your computer.
i love it and swear by it!!!
