Well it's time for a first poll in the bootleg forum. What kind of outtakes do you like listening to the most. Live stuff, early takes, Get Back sessions or somthing else, maybe.

I have left out the option, other but you can post what you like most and submit your second choise. I like complete studio outakes, and my preference is the white album period. So anything from the white album sessions.

Although I'm a Get Back sessions junkie, something about those early studio outtakes just grabs you. They're usually all playing and singing live, which is harder to hear on the later stuff. The White Album is my favorite, but outtakes from these sessions are hard to come by.

the BBC sessions are a close 2nd while Get Back sessions are a very close 3rd. i get kinda fed up with GB stuff though cuz it's just so massive and such poor quality. but the BBC sessions consistently ROCK. they were in their prime as a rock band and they loved to play still. those are magical recordings, especially considering the little impromptu comedy that always occured. images/icons/smile.gif

I could have written that Jerry, although I do have various White Album outtakes, which impo are not so hard to get from download areas.
Yet, the Get Back sessions remain my favorites.

i just love anything from 1968! i have tried to find it all, but when do you know you got it all. i have a few white boots, but never is enuff enuff, eh?
and, i know you've heard this before, but where is 'the real' helter skelter and revolution?
very frustrating, but at least something to look forward to, beatle-wise!

Love the BBC Sessions. I got a little carried away trying to collect those from WinMX- there is not a single bootleg series that has Every known BBC recording so I had to scour and search for about 10 different series. i was finally able to get all the documented/available recordings. It'd be hard to beat the Esher demos though. and, i agree with Jerry, those early outtakes are great. The 'boys' not completely sure how big they'll be yet but there's still confidence, cockiness, or something like it, in the recordings.

I'm a "Get Back" sessions junkie myself. I've strived to collect almost anything from that period, and I'm more than pleased to see it's the winnig category. images/icons/grin.gif

I voted for the BBC stuff. There's so much energy in their playing, it's great rock and roll. And I absolutely love the comedy that goes along with it, they were so good at coming up with hilarious lines off the top of their mop-top heads! images/icons/wink.gif images/icons/smile.gif

1965 to 1968, the golden studio years, for me. Not into the Get Back era - though one of my favorite possessions is a lovely 3 LP vinyl copy of The Black Album (with poster/insert in pristine condition).

I like the Strawberry Fields out takes.
The fast version is the best. I also love the "Get Back" album. If you can find a copy of that, it is well worth listening to the original format of what became Let It Be.

I love the early studio outtakes as well. I wish there were more outtakes available from the With the Beatles and AHDN sessions! graemlins/images/icons/frown.gif

It was in Red Eye Records, in Sydney, in about 1988.
The highlight for me is a complete Suzy Parker, with good chat leading in, and afterwards.
