I use to think it was complicated, but with the tracklists of the first 11 volumes of the Day by Day series, I am listening through the firs few now, and the 910's Guide to the Beatles Outtakes, I discovered that I have the first 97 rolls of twickenham sessions. Is having 97 rolls much, not really, there are over 400, and over 30 volumes of the day by day series, and so far I am having dificulties going through the first I have.
Any tips Jerry where to find the more intersting, complete songs on these first 11 volumes?
More fun then actually listening to the tapes imo is marking the rolls I have in the "910's Guide to the Beatles Outtakes" Which I am doing now, call me crazy but it is just a hobby.

If you're looking for nice edited jams and complete songs, then I think the "30 Days" set is the best bet. But I'm more of a completist, so I like to collect everything out there. To me, the "Day By Day" series is what I'm most interested in.
I know what you mean about the first few volumes being kind of boring. There is so much material there, I really don't remember which day produced the best versions of this song or that song. But it starts from the beginning of the sessions, so you have to be patient before they really get ANY songs down. They really start out just teaching each other the songs. Don't worry, sooner or later you'll hear nice complete versions. You have 11 volumes so far, so that's 22 hours of the sessions, not bad.
Also, there are a few rolls here and there that seem to have just disappeared. No explanation is really given in the liner notes. I can't remember if they are in the first 11 volumes you have, but there are a few of them.

how do you go about obtaining the 'day by day' series?
i never see it on winmx or some of the boot sites, (or ebay for that matter!).
and i never heard of the 910 guide, tho i do have the get back book which is pretty resourceful. . . is 910 that diff?

No, the 910 Guide is a wonderful magazine that once did a series called "Drugs, Divorce and a Slipping Image", which became the "Get Back" book. I think theres more basic info in the book version.
I cant say Ive seen the Day by Day CDs on WinMx either. I got mine from a German website some time ago; its since went down. The main difference, to me, between Day by Day and 30 Days is the funny dialouge between tracks. Oh yes, theres plenty of stuff where you have NO IDEA whats being said or happening, and actually, 30 Days does have some of the dialouge, like when George quit! I'd say: Super-Hardcore Beatlepeople, go for Day by Day. Those in it for just interesting music...honestly? Dont get the other either. Beg one of them hardcore-ites for a copy of the best stuff! OR....I could tell you, Sleepybomb, some of the more interesting titles, and you can search them out on WinMx. Let me know.

i'd say that the day by day series, like Jerry said, is just for completists. it's very difficult to really listen to. and it's easy to just figure out which songs are the most interesting, then find other boots with those songs or just download them.

I'm uploading the first 2 hours of the Get Back sessions for the next radio broadcast. Anybody interested in the Day By Day series should have a listen.

I just wanted to thank Jerry too for making such a fantastic Revolution Radio broadcast. It's really interesting to hear all the "Let It Be" songs evolving, and though the film and album are supposed to document the breakup, these tapes still seem to show that Beatles camraderie, and of course fantastic music! Though all the conversation about the "terrible acoustics" makes you wonder why they decided to film at Twickenham vs Abbey Road
