I wonder what this exhibition is like. It takes place in "Beatles Story Pier Head" until 31st of December 2009. Is it worth a trip to Liverpool?
I have read a very favourable review from the British Beatles fanclub:

This is the only review I have found.
It would be interesting to hear the opinion of other people, with deep knowledge of Lennon. I would like to know much more details about the videos, the sound clips, and the photos they present. Are there many unique items, not shown anywhere else before?
It looks very promising. But I also had great expectations about Cynthia Lennon's new book a couple of years ago, and was disappointed about the book, as so much the space in the book is occupied with "basic information" about the Beatles, which has been covered in countless other books.
I guess the exhibition is a lot better. I hope people who has visited it can give us detailed reviews!

I was in Liverpool in July, and this exhibit is definitely worth seeing. It's in a really cool building right on the water, an extension of the main Beatles Story museum.
The clothes and guitars and letters are really nice, there are video screens with interviews here and there, it's all presented very well. It's always nice to hear another side of the story we all know so well.
It's all original stuff, most of which has probably never been on display before. And I loved Julian's complete Beatles gold record collection, which was scattered throughout each room. No doubt that's the only time you'll ever see them all in one shot like that.
I assume you've seen this...

Is it worth a trip to Liverpool? I'd say sure, if you're in London or closer.

I agree with Jerry, it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. I loved it and would go back to see it again! There is so much, never before seen memorabilia and as Jerry said to see the gold record collection in one place is fantastic.

Wow - sounds like a great exhibition!
It would be nice if you could add inn some more details about the videos and exhibited items...
What kind of videos are there? Copies of amateur "super 8" home made movies from the sixties ? Clips from televison programs from the time? Or new videos, with interviews, produced specifically for the exhibition?
Was there other specific items you found especially interesting, besides the gold record collection?
Does anybody here know what the further plans for the exhibition are after December 31st?
Is would be a shame if this was the one and only chance to see such a nice exhibition ... If it is a big success - which I suppose it is - there may be hope that they prolong the duration in Liverpool to include 2010, or even make it a permanent exhibition, as an integral part of the Beatles Story? Or perhaps they have plans to move the exhibition from town to town around the world? Does anyone know?

Some items that I found of particular interest at the exhibit were John's cape from the cover of Help! that he wore during filming......also his coat that he wore a lot during MMT (George wears in in MMT too) and the guitar that John gave Julian for Christmas which has a little engraved plate on it, signed as from "Daddy". I thought that was lovely.
There were many photos too - family photos and also postcards of interest.
Throughout the exhibit, there are videos of Cynthia and Julian talking, almost as if they are helping to guide you through what you are seeing.
