I have a CD that I bought from a store that only has 38min of this 2hr show. Does anyone have this disc that I could get a copy from? This is my all time favorite solo Beatle interview and it would really mean a lot to me to have a copy.
Sincerely,
Dave

I have a CD that I bought at Best Buy. It's John Lennon, doing a radio DJ gig in New York. I don't know how long he was there, but this interview is about 38 min. I don't know how many times Lennon did this sort of thing so I may be talking about another show. Anywaysm this show does not have the commercials and songs played, so that's why it's only 38 min. I'd be happy to burn you a copy. Send me an Private message with your e-mail to discuss. Also, if anyone wants a copy too. The interview is a really good one. John is very much relaxed, funny, of course, and serious at times.

What does the interview pertain to- mostly? I don't think I've ever heard this one.

I have the whole thing on a bootleg CD.

In 1974, one Sunday afternoon, John Lennon showed up unexpectedly at the studios of WNEW-FM radio and spent the afternoon with Dennis Elsas, the DJ on air at the time, spinning records, reading commercials and PSAs, and having an all -around good time...it's a great show!

Nipper,
I would love to have the full version of this. How can I get a copy from you? I love that interview and I must have the full version.

PS To the other gentleman, I have the same 38min CD that you have. I appreciate your offer to burn me a copy, but it is the entire show I seek. Have this...I must!!!

John did the same thing at a Philadelphia counterpart to WNEW called WMMR. I posted the story a while back when I read about it in the newspapers. John hung out and played records and basically goofed around for a bit,

Sorry to be a pedantic lil' trainspotter- but i thought i'd let you know that John's WNEW guest spot was on Saturday 28th September '74 with Denis Elsas, just before 4pm.
Thing is, I have 2 versions of this interview that are both 40 - odd minutes long
but different edits...
1 is a vinyl lp called 'listen to this' and the other is an unmarked cd-r with no details.
Shame, as the original probably had a nice lookin' label.

Well, the one I have is two CDs, and includes everything, including the ads and promos and PSAs and weather forecasts, etc. I also have an additional CD with the artwork for the CD case. I think that what I have is the complete broadcast -- I'm not exactly sure how long it is, but since everything seems to be on these two CDs, I assume it's longer than 40 minutes...it's great, too!
