I've gotten a fair copy of Let It Be here on my computer. NOW...can I burn this straight to a CD and it'll play like a VCD? Dont laugh, I dont know!!

My music teacher was able to burn a movie onto CD but he had to use a special burner. I don't know how much they cost, but it can be done as far as I know.
I'd check out Future Shop or a store like that to see what they say.

I've some software that's called 'the internet movie burner'. With this software you should be able to burn your movies or video clips on a cd and then play it on your dvd. I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to, soon.

Okay...here's another question about this...
Do VCD's play on DVD players and regular CD drives? Someone wants to send me one but I am not sure it will work, I'm not even sure WHAT the diff is between a VCD and a DVD...
Can someone clarify, please?

Don't even know what a vcd is, is it something that came before the DvD?
And are you sure we are talking about bootlegs here?

Found something helpful:VCDHelp.com even offers freeware. Now ask me later what I've thought of "Let It Be" so far...

for the most part, if the file is an mpeg, it can be burned to disc as is. (as a vcd)(use nero or easy cd creator.) if it is an avi file, it has to be converted to a vcd mpeg with a program called TMPGenc. it is freeware i believe. also, if the file is an mpeg and doesn't burn as is, you can use this program to convert as well.
as for if it will work in your dvd player... if the player is fairly new, within 2 years, it should work. but not definitely. just have to try it if you're not sure. hope this helps and feel free to ask anything.

you need a codec prog that will flip the file to a version that will be read by a dvd player as vcd. . . it has to be in mpeg-2 code, and the player has to be one that sez it will play sed vcd. . .
it ain't easy and not really cheap, most free converters do not do the job.
i use sonic foundry's video factory. . .and have a new sony dvd player that does read the coded cd's.
it took awhile but i can now burn vcd's . . . now i am saving up for a real dvd burner!
good luck!
