Being brand new to downloading {at least I can hear the stuff, even without a CD burner},is there some big secret to finding stuff on WINMX? I notice that something may be there one time, then 30 minutes later, you cant find it. What am I doing wrong? I'd found "One Before 911" and "Please Me Do" once last night. Now theyre gone, it seems. Or is there a better source for something like the mono White Album?

Like all P2P networks,it depends on what's up at the time.
It took me a few weeks searching under Beatles mono to get the full White Album mono...I think about 4 weeks.
Again,keep searching.
Some suggestions
Beatles mono (for mono WA Pepper etc)
Beatles stereo (first four)
Beatles Capitol or USA )you can get some of the old US LP remixes)
Beatles live (concerts)
Beatles [city of concert e.g. Tokyo] for a specific show
Beatles take for outtakes
also,if you have a good connection and a long time to spend, there are videos.
Plus,if a connection/download bombs out,it will save it until next session with WinMX,until the file is done.

Thanks much for the tips. At least I've gotten to hear Georges "Dehra Dhun" at long last!

It depends who's on line.

Only files from members who are on-line are shown and accessible.

Good search tips Tim.

I've been using winmx for quite awhile now. If you have a good broadband connection, search for what you want and leave the computer on for a few days. I was amazed at how much I was able to download in the space of 4 days. My 40GB hard drive is near to capacity and I need to start doing some serious burning!!!

I've gotten some of my best boots from the Beatles mp3 binaries newsgroup. It's surprising how many people don't know about Usenet.

There was a Russian website with tons of mp3s

http://beatles.oko.ru/grup.php3?g=1&t=3

but recently it was closed down. I can still see the site, but can't download from there anymore. The connection was very slooooow so you had to be very patient.

My latest downloading obsession from WinMx has been the Beatles cartoons! I downloaded a few episodes (took about a half an hour for each) and then burned it onto a cd and took it to my little cousin's house to watch on her pc. They came out excellent and were very entertaining! I'm aiming to eventually have downloaded all the episodes by the year 2005. graemlins/tongue7.gif * LOL.
