I need some nice music quotes/lyrics for my post-it note wall, and I'd love to see what you all think is beautiful song writing!

Right now I'm liking some lines from Jimi Hendrix's 'Little Wing':
"Well shes walking through the clouds
With a circus mind thats running round"
and
"When Im sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free"

Do You Realize - we're floating in space -
Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun don'-go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

From Driftwood by Justin Hayward (Moody Blues). I just love these lines, so poetic.

Just like the driftwood of a dream
Left of the seashore of sleep
Just like the words that wouldn't rhyme
Lost in the desert of time

From Bruce Springsteen's "Tunnel Of Love":

It ought to be easy ought to be simple enough
Man meets a woman and they fall in love
But the house is haunted and the ride gets rough
And you've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above
if you want to ride on down in through this tunnel of love

The highway's jammed with broken heroes
On a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight
And there's no place left to hide
- "Born to Run" - Bruce Springsteen

And if you hear vague traces of skippin' reels of rhyme
To your tambourine in time, it's just a ragged clown behind
I wouldn't pay it any mind
It's just a shadow you're seeing that he's chasing.
- "Mr Tambourine Man" - Bob Dylan

I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them
But they were only satellites
Is it wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care

Like a ship in the night
You passed along the highways of my life
And now my mind you're always in

Originally written by Les Holroyd for the then divided city Berlin, those words still ring true for people I know and have known, whether part of my present life or not, they still and always will live in my mind.

IT'S MY LIFE - Animals

It's a hard world to get a break in
All the good things have been taken
But girl there are ways
To make certain things pay
Though I'm dressed in these rags
I'll wear sable
Someday

Hear what I say
I'm gonna write this sermon
No more time spent
Sweatin' rent
Hear my command
I'm breakin' loose
It ain't no use
Holdin' me down
Stick around

But baby, but baby
Remember, remember
It's my life and I'll do what I want
It's my mind and I'll think what I want

Show me I'm wrong, hurt me sometime
But some day, I'll treat you real fine

There'll be women and their fortunes
Who just want to mother orphans.
Are you gonna cry when I'm squeezing them dry?
Taking all I can get, no regrets when I openly lie (ha)!

And live on their money
Believe me honey
That money
Can you believe?
I ain't no Saint
No complaints
So girl throw out
Any doubt

And baby, and baby
Remember, remember
It's my life and I'll do what I want
It's my mind and I'll think what I want
Show me I'm wrong, hurt me sometime
But some day, I'll treat you real fine

It's my life and I'll do what I want
Don't push me
It's my mind and I'll think what I want
It's my life
It's my life and I'll do what I want
And I can do what I want
It's my mind and I'll think what I want
You can't tell me
It's my life and I'll do what I want

I love that song Superman!

today these .lyrics hit me

Hallelujah, Dads and Mommies,
Cowboys, Rebels, Yanks and Commies
Buy yourselves som real red blooded fun.
If you want to make the grade,
You've got to have a hand grenade,
And a fully automatic G.I. Gun.

[Cho:]
Buy a gun for your son right away, Sir
Shake his hand like a man and let him play, Sir.
Let his little mind expand, Place a weapon in his hand,
For the skills he learns today will someday pay, Sir.

Pound that kid into submission
'Till he's mastered Nuclear Fission
Buy him plastic warheads by the score,
Once he's got the taste of blood,
He's gonna sneak up on his buddies
Starting his own thermo-nuclear war.

[Cho.]

Buy him khakis and fatigues,
And sign him up in little leagues,
Give him calisthenics as a rule.
Once you've banished fear and dread,
Then pat his seven year-old head,
And send him off to military school.

[Cho]

Once he's grown to be a man,
He might get tired of blasting Granny,
Then you'll see a crisis coming on.
Don't get worried, don't get nervous.
Send that kid into the service,
Let him rise into the Pentagon.

[Cho]

At the Pentagon he'll rise.
The President he will advise,
His reputation growing all the while.
With his picture on the wall,
He'll get that long-awaited call,
And press the firing buttons with a smile.

John "Nobody Told Me:

Nov 07, 2009, 12:02 PM
There was a day when I was so lonely
Time passed me by
I was more dead than alive
Every minute was like an hour
Every day was an eternity
I looked for hope but all around me
People didn't seem to care

CHORUS
Oh that rock 'n' roll it saved my soul
That rock 'n' roll

If I ever thought that I could be happy
Dreams like that always faded away
And all the girls already had boyfriends
I was alone as lonely could be
I laid asleep and turned on the radio
The music to me was like a dream

CHORUS

You walk around but you gotta have a reason
Something worth getting up in the morning for
My heart looked to art and I found the Beatles
Oh God I was and am a true disciple
Look for the fun you'll start a happy cycle
The music will make you come alive

CHORUS

She was crying just like a baby
Didn't wanna fight or more like maybe
You ought to get on home at night
Keep the battle to the right
Seeing the love and adultry
And wonderin' who was in the outfield
Swear I know the truth
And I ain't wearin' nobody's shoes
I got some dollar on high look out now
It's shining, with a bottle of knuckleheads
She's like a drunken rat cat, oh
I guess you're coming out the backdoor
She did all right it's a battle or fight
So I feel all empty now
You try to hold a figure eight
She said what's the Anti-Christ
He said oh what did you do to her
It's probably she's been talking to Lucifer
Is that really the night
Oh, my, uh, uh
Alright
Hey

John "Nobody Told Me:

John's solo songs have amazing lyrics!..
"If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
And the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry
No I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me"

I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand on my own ground,
How can I find my own way out of this maze?

Deaf, dumb and blind, you just keep on pretending
That everyone's expendable and no one has a real friend
And it seems to you the thing to do
Would be to isolate the winner
And everything's done under the sun
And you believe at heart, everyone's a killer

Who was born in a house full of pain
Who was trained not to spit in the fan
Who was told what to do by the man
Who was broken by trained personnel
Who was fitted with collar and chain
Who was given a seat in the stand
Who was breaking away from the pack
Who was only a stranger at home
Who was ground down in the end
who was found dead on the phone
Who was dragged down by the stone

How's it going everyone? I hope that the weekend was a great and happy one for everyone. I'm not sure that I can say that I'm liking this lyric that I'm about to mention but I would have never believed it until I heard it. And you have to listen very carefully too. Maybe many of you have heard this story before, maybe not! I'll try to explain this story with the best detail possible so here it goes. Former BEACH BOY leader Brian Wilson wrote a song in 1963 called "Catch a Wave." If you listen to the song at exactly 1:36, you will hear Mike Love sing the lyric "S*c* my D*c*!

Right after the instrumental music in the middle of the song, the verse begins with Mike singing "so take a lesson from a top-notch surfer boy. After that verse, Brian will sing "Catch a wave, catch a wave" with his falsetto vocal. Right after Brian sings "Catch a wave" the second and final time, at 1:36, you will hear Mike Love sing the vocal "S*c* my D*c*. That lyric has been on The Beach Boys' original recording since 1963 and many have never caught it, let alone heard it. Mike sang the lyric in such a low tone that it mixed and blended perfectly with the harmonies. Listen to the song for yourself and you be the judge. Take care.

So much for love
Guess i've been wrong
But it's all right
Cuz i'm moving on
I've got my car all packed with cassette tapes
And sweaters and loose change and cheap cigarettes

I'm gonna drive through the hills
With my hand out the window
And sing 'til i run out of words
I'm gonna stop at every truck stop
Make small talk with waiters and truck driving men

I'm gonna fall asleep in the back seat
With no one around but me and my friends
It's gonna be so grand
It's gonna be just like my wedding day, yeah

I've had enough of love
It feels good to give up
So good to be good to myself
I'm gonna get on the highway with no destination
And plenty of vision in mind

And i'm gonna drive to the ocean
Go skinny dipping
Blow kisses to venus and mars
I'm gonna stop at every bar
And flirt with the cowboys in front their girlfriends
It's gonna be so grand
It's gonna be just like my wedding day, yeah

So much for love
I guess i've been wrong
But it's all right cuz i'm moving on
I'm gonna drive over hills
Over mountains and canyons
And boys that keep bringin me down

I'm gonna drive under skyline and sunshine
Drink good wine in vineyards
And get asked to dance
I'm gonna be carefree and let nothing pass me by
Never ever again

It's gonna be so grand
It's gonna be so grand
It's gonna be just like my wedding day

What about the night we cried?
Because there wasn't any reason
Left to keep it all inside.
Never understood a word,
But you were always there with a smile.

And if I say I really loved you
And was glad you came along.
Then you were here today,
For you were in my song.
