I'm a die hard Eagles fan from birth. I meet up with 100-200 fellow die hard Eagles fans here in Tampa to watch the game every Sunday. I was in disbelief when I heard they picked up Vick last night. I agree that what Vick was a part of was beyond horrible, but I am not about to turn my back on my team. For Andy Reid to sign Vick suggests to me that Vick is actually trying to make amends for his wrongs. I don't think this is just me spinning it in my own head either. Reid and the Eagles are known for focusing on character as well as athleticism in their players. Also, look who Vick's most ardent supporter to get back into football is right now: Tony Dungy. I can't think of a more upstanding guy to ever have played or coached the game. It says a lot to me if Dungy sees Vick as truly remorseful.

Am I looking past the animal cruelty? Hell no. I think Vick should continue to pay for his wrongs by ceaselessly working with the Humane Society to get the anti-dogfighting message out. As long as he is trying to make something positive come from his past wrongs, I will cheer for him when he puts on Eagle green. If he slips up in that regard, I can still boo him while supporting my Eagles. Philly fans are good at that.
