I don't know if anyone heard about this. I liked a lot of his 80's movies.

Aww, man! This is news to me. What a shame! I'm a big fan of all his movies.

What a shock this was. I was ringing up a customer's newspaper--one of our regulars--and saw that one of the front page stories was John Hughes' death. You never heard of him having health problems or anything, but he had been away from mainstream Hollywood for a while.

He sort of had a modern-day Frank Capra thing going on with the films he chose, always the underdog was the hero, often very young.

He often filmed in the Chicago area, wonder if the Home Alone house is there.
