I've recently heard a tape of John Lennon jamming with the also late great Phil Ochs in a hotel room... it's really cool, but it sounds like the tape broke in after they had jammed a while... Does anyone know if more of this tape exists?
Also, I've heard a tape of "What's the New Maryjane" that someone said had Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd on it... is this legit?
Under what circumstances did barrett and Lennon meet? Thanks...

Thought you might be interested in this fictional story about John and Syd, Jack. It's called "Games for May" and written by one of our members, JDanRyan, a very good writer, and published on Susan's Rooftop Sessions. Click HERE (http://www.rooftopsessions.com/GamesForMay.html) for a direct link.

Well, Jack, it was assumed for some time that Syd was on "What's the New Maryjane" because of how Floyd-influenced the track appeared. There's no evidence that Syd ever did work on this track, and the story probably appeared about the same the story about John and Paul doing the chorus on the Rolling Stones' "Sing This All Together" did. It's a nice thought, but in this case there's more wishful thinking than anything else.

(BTW, Sandra, thanks for the link.)
