"maxwell's Silver Hammer" was almost recorded in October 1968 as a last-minute addition to the "White Album". It was rehearsed at Twickenham Film Studios in January during the "Get Back" sessions, but never recorded until July 9, 1969, for the LP Abbey Road. It is possible that John did some of the singing at the rehearsal.

I've just came across a version of this song sung by John in a strange voice. It says its from the Get Back sessions and sounds like John.Does anyone know if this is genuine? Also I found a demo of a song called You Saved Me which was recorded in 1980.

It would be funny to hear John singing MSH considering that he hated the song.
