View Full Version : Did John Stutter??

I think I noticed some interesting speech patterns in John during an interview during the early 1970s (Found it on YouTube, I think it was Mike Douglas or near that time). It sounded like he was a bit dysfluent, or had a type of stutter. He seemed to stop, or make blocks, between most words. He didn't really repeat the sounds, but there was a lot of stopping and hesitating and that actually is a form of stuttering.

I obviously can't diagnose anyone, but I am majoring in Speech Pathology right now and am learning about this stuff. I often wonder if Lennon had a type of speech disorder (he seemed to have some "cluttering" too...his speech was not ALWAYS clear).

Anyone have a take on this?
Has anyone read anything about John's speech?

I think that this in part might have to do with his scouse accent.
