The Zombies along with the Yardbirds, and the Spencer Davis Group are teaming up and hitting the road later this month for a select group of dates.

The Zombies' Colin Blunstone and Ron Argent originally reunited in 2002, recording their Out Of The Shadows album which they released under their own names. As the pair's live shows and studio work grew creatively, Argent says that they were inspired to bring the Zombies back: ["I mean I've always resisted ever using the name the Zombies. We've had loads and loads of offers ever since we spilt up in 1967, actually before 'Time of the Season,' and Odessey & Oracle even came out. For the first time we were listening to some of the stuff back, and we just kept chuckling because, while we're not pretending that it's exactly like an old Zombies album, we kept hearing things and saying 'well, God, that could've come straight out of Odessey & Oracle, y'know?'"]

The current lineup of the Yardbirds includes cofounders Chris Dreja on guitar and Jim McCarty on drums.

This sounds like fun. I wonder who's in the line-up for The Yardbirds?

The Yardbirds are: Jim McCarty drums, Ben King lead guitar, Chris Dreja rhythm guitar, Andy Mitchell lead vocals/harmonica, David Smale bass guitar.

Jim and Chris date from the Clapton / 60's days.

Drummer Jim McCarty and rhythm guitarist Chris Dreja are the original members. I'm surprised that they were able to replace former lead singer/bassist John Idan so quickly. Looks like Billy Boy Misskimmin has departed, as well. That said, I hope they do well with the new guys.

We saw this show last Friday night in NYC...it was a lot of fun.

Spencer Davis went first - he was great, although it's always strange to hear I'm a Man and Gimme Some Lovin' without Steve Winwood on vocals. But they were really good and everyone (including them) seemed to be having fun.

The Yardbirds - They were okay. I only recognized a couple of songs, but one of the people with us was a big Yardbirds fan and wasn't as happy with them as with the other two groups. I can't really comment...they seemed good to me.

The Zombies - Colin Blunstone's voice is really holding up--that man can sing!! They did a bunch of songs, their hits, plus a couple of Argent songs, ending with God Gave Rock & Roll to You. FUN!! :rolling1:
