I have read that the Beatles covered Lady Jane by the Rolling Stones sometime in 1969 and that it's available on bootleg. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get that.

Sorry, I just found out the covered Satisfaction also, around the same time. I'll rephrase my question: would you happen to know where I could get bootlegs of the Beatles doing Stones covers?

The songs you mentioned were recorded during the Get Back sessions. Think they didn't do more stones song I think. I haven't got the songs but if it is like most of the stuff recorded during the get back sessions it won't be real covers but just a few lines of the songs.
The songs are on the get back journals boxset. Haven't seen one single cd with these two songs on it.

Yeah, both of these songs are briefly played during the sessions. I didn't go back and listen to the CDs, but I'm pretty sure they only play one or two chords or even notes of the songs.

Wouldn't that be on one of YD's Day By Day series?

Should be on the Day By Day series since it claims to be the most complete set of Get back sessions cd's. But I haven't seen that set so I still use the Get Back yournals as reference.

I have an overview of Day By Day somewhere, so will have a look.

Like six hours we sang, because you couldn't stop once you got going. You just couldn't stop. It was like as soon as you stop, it was like the lights went out."

Thank you all very much for your help. I guess I'll check out some Get Back session bootlegs then. Even if they are only a few seconds long I'd still be interested in hearing them, since it's my favorite band doing covers of my second favorite band (I like the Who too, but that's kinda obvious...). I have all of the officially released Beatles CDs, including the Anthologies and Live at the BBC, but I was never really sure about getting bootlegs.

But anyway thanks again to all of you.

I have the Yellow Dog set, and they're definitely in there somewhere. Some day when I have a huge amount of free time, I'll go find the tracks and maybe I can e-mail them to you.

I never knew that The Beatles did Stones covers. Shows how much I know.
