What are your favorite Floyd lyrics?
Mine are the ones from "Time" and "We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year" from Wish You Were Here... but I have a lot more so I will keep adding :D

"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year"
That's my favorite too. :)

"All in all it's just another brick in the wall"
"She's often inclined to borrow somebody's dreams 'til tomorrow"
"I've got a mouse and he hasn't got a house. I don't know why I call him Gerald!"
"And I'm grateful that you threw away my old shoes and brought me here instead dressed in red"
"Haven't you heard? It's a battle of words"
"Your band is just fantastic, that is really what I think. Oh by the way, which one's Pink?"
"And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon."
"There's someone in my head but it's not me"
"All that is now
And all that is gone
And all that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
(but the sun is eclipsed by the moon)"
"Come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine!"
"Of course mama's gonna help build the wall"
"What did you dream? It's alright; we told you what to dream."
"So you think you can tell heaven from hell; blue skies from pain?
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell?"
"There must be some mistake, I didn't mean to let them take away my soul.
Am I too old, is it too late?"
"Since, my friend, you have revealed your deepest fear,
I sentence you to be exposed before your peers.
Tear down the wall!"

I love all of those! Especially the one from See Emily Play.
I love these from Have A Cigar:
"Come in here dear boy, have a cigar. You're gonna go far, you're gonna fly high. You're never gonna die, you're gonna make it if you try, they're gonna love you!"
From Waiting On The Worms:
"You cannot reach me now, no matter how you try".
All the lyrics to Mother, all the ones to Wish You Were Here, all the ones to Shine On You Crazy Diamond. I absolutely love those songs. All the ones from Brain Damage (Dark Side of the Moon is my favorite album by them).
They're just such great lyricists, ah.

I always liked, "Life is a short warm moment, and death is a long cold rest."... from "Free Four". It's such a bouncy song but with such dismal lyrics. Quintessential "Floyd"!

No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
No more turning away
From the darkness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It's not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there'll be
No more turning away?

I'd have a tough time choosing favorite Floyd lyrics. When I was bored during college lectures, I'd write out the lyrics to "Nobody Home" from the Wall. I did it so often, I got the Wall font down to a science.

Thought I ought to bear my naked feelings
Thought I ought to tear the curtain down
I hold the blade in trembling hands
Prepared to make it but
Just then the phone rang
I never had the nerve to make the final......cut.
I love that whole passage. Actually that whole song. Actually that whole ALBUM. Generally an unpopular opinion, but The Final Cut is my favorite Floyd album. really a Waters album....but don't care.

It's a great album. Kind of a 'poor-man's' "Wall".

I think it kicks the shit out of the Wall lol. The wall's got to much filler to my ear's. I still enjoy it, But it's no where near my fav.

I was just looking for a link to the "Wall" demos to post here. It's called "Building The Wall" and sounds great. I have the disc but thought if anyone is interested, they could check it out and/or download it. Speaking of Floyd boots, check out this site if you like. It has a mind-boggling 288 Floyd boots with another 60 by solo members. Most in flac.
