I just changed my profile in Audiogalaxy since my sister's account self-exploded or burned itself (I don't really know what happened). My name there is now "DarkHorse1982", and now we've got (with my sister) all of our songs together, so if you browse through my profile you'll see songs that I would never ever listen to, but you see, you have to share the computer... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/rolleyes.gif
Anyway, the idea of this was, most of us are members of the George Harrison group (Or 'were', I'm trying to rejoin with my new name now...). It's quite easy to own or operate an Audiogalaxy group in order to share some rare songs, bootlegs and stuff... So do you think it would be a good idea if we start a group for just Beatlelinkers and the like? Then we could find eachother more easily.
I know this has been considered before, but never concreted... so it's just a wild idea.

Alright I've joined again. Against better judgement. Installing Spyware, pc is going to slow down, privacy gone (needs to know everything where you live you're birthday etc.) pasword with 8 charactars? I already forgot which one I have. But the good news is I'm not DHKF anymore I'm now Legsakic.

Anyway. If we can set up a group of Beatlelink users, indeed it would be easier to find each other. If someone is searching for something, maybe someone else of us has it and can send it to him/her. I'm not going to put a lot of Mp3's on my computer, afraid it might slow down, but as said if someone is searching for something and I happen to have it I will put it on my shared files.
I know FPSHOT is FPSHOT, seen your list now to Darkhorse. What is Forty's her username?

There is a special 'connect' page/screen which come up when you have downloaded Audiogalaxy which operates as the 'start' or 'connect' screen and where you can see the downloading and sending phases.
I think you have to use that to connect.

You have installed Audiogalaxy.
Check out the files probably in your 'Program Files' drive, you will see one called AGSatelite, 3 round blue coloured 'things'.
That's the one, double-click. That should get you in.

I have bad experience with help from Audiogalaxy.
I still think you have to find that AGSatelite screen file on your own computer and activate it. You probably did, because you say you see 'no active transfers'. I trust you did push the 'Go' button.

Just some info - for Bandontherun and others.
If you subscribe to Audiogalaxy, you have to identify on which drive you put your shared songs, i.e. your downloads and other songs you want to share.
So if you have songs/tracks you have downloaded they will automatically come in to that drive and on the Audiogalaxy 'Shared Directory'.
If you have songs there you see on your home page a button 'SEND' so just press that if you want to send a song to a member at Beatlelinkers.
The next page which ask where you want to send it. Press any of those mentioned under Beatlelinkers, individual sending or group sending, and proceed.
To look for songs from another member, press on the members name and you will reach his/her Home page. If he/she is online you can get into the Shared Directory and download whatever you want.
At any time you can move downloads to another drive on your computer, and ofcourse the otherway round too. So downloads from other sources you can put in the Audiogalaxy drive for instance for 'us' to copy.
Via the message board you can communicate with the members e.g. about required songs.

Here http://www.lavasoft.nu/ you can download a program called adaware with that you can erase spyware. I used it and apart from the Audiogalaxy spyware I had more programs secretly installed on my putter, erased it all.
Downloading and sending songs to others goes surprisinly fast for me, thought it would all be slow but it is faster then downloading songs from websites.
Now what is anoying is that I have different versions of Ringo's Wrack My Brain and Private Property in my shared files and I have given them different names but just one version will show up in my shared files on Audiogalaxy. How come?

If they have the same name, say they're both called Ringo Starr- Wrack My Brain, only one file shows up. Yes, I downloaded two different outtakes of one song which only show up once because they have the same name.

I don't understand Audiogalaxy.
I burnt my Last Flight Cd's into my shared file (BTW how do you check or change that for Audiogalaxy), there are 28 tracks, but not all are showing up on my satellite as shared songs.
Not all the missing ones are the same title, either (those that are I put Kampuchea in brackets after the title to differentiate them).
I know that they are all live versions, yet some in the group are saying that I sent them the original versions.
Can somebody please explain how it works?

I know that they don't copy all of the title that you give the files.
My experience is that when you first give the file a new name, as short as possible, and then move it to your Audiogalaxy shared files, it does copy what you did.
By moving I mean that you will have a certain drive on your PC where you put Audiogalaxy, and you will also have private files.
So when downloaded, move the file to another directory on your PC, change name, as short as possible.
I used e.g. FPSHOT - Carl Tribute
and that came on.
In case you want to communicate about this more direct, you can use the Beatlelinkers group at Audiogalaxy, but you can also e.mail me. For other members, this option is open for everyone. I believe Audiogalaxy is the best site for sharing files, so that is why I am so anxious.
