If you was to compile a George Harrison bootleg which songs, never oficialy released on a George album, would you choose to make it your ultimate George bootleg. These can be your favourites outtakes you've downloaded or from bootlegs. I've set the limit at 20 songs and if a song is from a bootleg, please tell us which one. Here's mine list.

1. All Things Must Pass

As you all know, during the Get Back sessions some songs played by the Beatles ended up on solo albums. All Things Must Pass is one of them. There are many Get Back boots and different versions of ATMP but since it’s my list I go for a version I have on “From Get Back to Let It Be” a walrus release. A complete acoustic version without annoying talk in it.

2. Run Of The Mill - Acoustic
3. Everybody, Nobody
4. Window Window
5. Mother Divine, acoustic
6. If Not For You, acoustic
7. I Don’t Want To Do It, acoustic

(From Beware Of Abcko! Strawberry Records. In fact the whole Abcko boot is good, beautiful acoustic versions by George and in perfect sound quality, but eh got to make chooses. Some good Harriboots were released by Strawberry records so is the next one)

8. Dehra Dun
9. Gopala Krishna

(A True Legend, Strawberry Records. Great boot (Thanks FPSHOT) Dehra Dun is nice to hear and Gopala is well special love to listen to these songs)

10. Give Me Love, early acoustic demo

(From Living in the alternate world, Pegboy. Also: Shanghai surprise in the Material World, Walrus)

11. Sat Singing
12. Lay His Head
13. Flying Hour
14. Tears Of The World

(From Pirate songs, Vigotone or the Mystic Maestro re-releases. Also slightly different mixes from the original “Somewhere In England” album are on, surprise surprise the original “Somewhere In England” album which has been released by the Pegboy bootleg label)

15. Your True Love (George and Carl Perkins. I don’t know which boot it’s on, it has been released on a Carl Perkins album.)

16. Rockline Medley – Bits and pieces of: Drive my car, Here Comes The Sun, The bells of Rhymney.
17. Absolutely Sweet Marie
18. Abondoned Love
19. Shanghai Surprise

(All songs are on Pegboy’s 12 Arnold Grove. While “Shanghai” is also on “Shanghai Surprise in the material World” released by Walrus. The first is George’s appearance on a radio show. He sounds like if he had a bit to much of whatever but still manages to give a nice rendition of the songs. Absolutely sweet Marie is a live performance at the Madison Square Garden October 16 1992. As part of Columbia records- Bob Dylan 30th anniversary celebration. The other two songs are unreleased and should have been, they are great!)

20 Ride Rabjun

(George with Dhani & Ravi, Walrus bootleg Shanghai Surprise in the material world)

Your list is perfect. In fact I think I'm going to burn my own CD. Thanks for the suggestions. I had forgotten (oops) about "Abandoned Love". Now I "get back" to it.

A wounded tiger on a willowy path,
Like an opalescent moon all alone in the sky of a foreign land"

Thanks for that Legs.
Yes Abandoned Love, great. Has anyone put that one on our favourite 150 over at the palace?

"I loved him from the first moment I met him and I shall miss his eyes, his laughter, his honesty and his wonderful guitar playing."

No particular order, but my favorites are

Art of Dying
from The Making Of All Things Must Pass, there are various on it, but I like the ones with mainly the lead guitar riff which makes this song so pure and rocking.

Beautiful girl
from Beware of ABKCO

Run of the mill
the acoustic version from various bootlegs

Something
from Through Many Years,
Something
Track 7,8,9:Recorded on February 25, 1969, George's 26th Birthday. Track 7 and 8 are John Barrett's 1986 mixes, the track 9 is taken from an original acetate just for completeness and anthenticity's sake.

I don't care anymore
from A True Legend
1974 :Radio interview with Vritish DJ Alan Freeman that were included in his program "Rock Around The World". They were recorded on October 18th, 1974 at Apple, 54 St.James Street and transmitted in the USA in September 1975.

Dark Horse
the non-hoarse version that is on the Harri/Spector show bootleg

Flying Hour, Sat Singing and Lay His Head as said before, far better than some of the tracks on the SIE album

Sue me, sue you blues
the 'dobro' demo from Spirits In The Material World and Trough All Those Years

Don't let me wait too long
the instrumental mix

Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea
March 3, 1991 - Recorded in Winter Garden, Blackpool, London from "Cab Calloway Convention". George played an ukulele with Joe Brown(Guitar), Herbie Flowers(Guitar), Ray Cooper(Percussion), Jools Holland(Piano).

Someplace else
rough demo from 12 Arnold Grove

Abandoned Love
from various bootlegs

If you belonged to me
from VH1

If you don't know where you're going..
from VH1

Rockline Medley
which he did with Jeff Lynne being pretty http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/beer.gif

Awaiting on you all
from The Making Of ATMP.

That's it for the moment.

At the moment, "Absolutely Sweet Marie" is my total favorite... What a wonderful rocker, and a great performance. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

In case that's considered a bootleg (The Dylan Anniversary Concert is on CD), I would add My Back Pages.

Don't know how easy it is to get the Dylan Anniversary Concert. But I only have "Sweet Marie" on a bootleg and since that song and My Back Pages, aren't on an oficial Harrison release (not that I know) you can include them.

I've seen the 2CD Dylan Anniversary CD, but have not bought it yet... Really low quantities of money from this side of the world. But it's quite easy to find. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

It is, but other than the Harrison performance, I did not think much of the concert.

I had thought about that. Not a "must", then?
