Somebody said that for $10, I'll be the owner of this boot.

Anybody know if it's any good? I do want to hear the parodies of 'God' and 'Remember,' plus 'The Hokey Pokey' to the tune of 'Let it Down.' Should I invest?

I just got this bootleg two weeks ago.

The main part are recordings from early 70's by George and Phil Spector, both on guitar, Phil doing most of the vocals.

The Remember / God thing lasts 10 seconds and is just 'Don't believe in Buddha' and some guitar parts.

Very good is the acoustic River Deep Mountain High.

George starts Obladi-Oblada and then gets into Let It Down. I Hear You Knocking is quite good too.

The I'll be your baby tonight - a Dylan song - starts the album and probably was joined by some http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/beer.gif

I like it and actually paid close to $ 10 for it and it is not much for this special package.

Nice to hear are

Ding Dong - a demo with mainly George on hoarse vocals - or what's left of the voice -bass, acoustic guitars and drums.

The Splinter recordings where George does guitars, bass, dobro, mandolin, harmonica, synthesizer, percussion, backing vocals and produced it. The dobro solo's are very nice and he also does a nice bit of slide.

These Splinter recordings by the way does bring back the memory of Stealers Wheel or Gerry Rafferty.

The rough mix of the beautiful I Am Missing You song which is appreciated by many here is interesting too.

Dark Horse is a pretty slow version which again is different from those which appeared on other bootlegs. The voice is good, but I guess this one dates from early Dark Horse rehearsals because the Hoarse sound is starting already whereas on some bootlegs you can find non-hoarse versions.

Lovely laddy day is the Ronnie Spector song which went with Try Some Buy Some, it sais on the boolket that the following musicians played on this one
George - acoustic guitar
Jim Gordon - drums
Leon Russel - keyboards
Klaus - Bass
Carl Radle - Bass
Ringo (??) - Percussion

but I have other info which is that it was mainly George, Leon and Pete Ham (Badfinger) for Try Some Buy Some, You, Tandoori Chicken and this one on Febr. 2, 1971 and that on Febr. 3, 1971, John Lennon joined on piano.

Olivia Harrison noted:
The tribute for George will resound not only within the Albert Hall but hopefully reach the spirit of the man so loved by his friends who will be performing and attending.

It's a duet.

A great album indeed.

Thanks~ it's wonderful to hear George doing Dylan. His love for it always really shines through. Like the "Sweet Marie" on the tribute, you can tell he is having such a blast...even in front of the big crowd! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif I'll have to scour ebay for this one!
