Still sick, but not puking, which is good.
I might not be able to sing my solo at contest on Saturday. I haven't looked at it really and since I'm sick, I don't know. It hurts when I talk or laugh because of the muscles I had to use early Wednesday morning for 7 hours.
I really want to sing since it's my last year...but I got sick the first year I was supposed to do one, I got sick.

I do too. I'm sure with his tech skills he shouldn't have too much trouble.
The economy won't always be this bad, it'll turn around again. It always does.
I do think a lot of companies that are doing okay are using the economy
as an excuse to cut hours and lay off employees. Not great for the

Snow and Ice brought down the awning over my back door, along with a piece of the siding, busted out a window, hit the outside electrical box, landed on my plant bench and hit a chair that was still outside, will have to wait for the a melt to see if it cracked any of the decorative bricks on the patio, lots of loose gutters courtesy of the snow and ice, hope they will stay put till spring! :cross2: Have the adjuster and someone to look at putting back up the siding and fixing the window this week, if it does not snow all week?

Driving is not safe at the moment!
OBC, if your car is an automatic, put it in a lower gear, 1st gear - you won't go any faster than 20mph, even downhill, 2nd gear - no faster than 25-30mph, it helps you keep control of the car, no jumps starts coming off the stop lights! No hard braking, slow easy breaking!
Snow is way easier to drive in than ice, feel blessed it's snow for now, we had 10-12" of snow and ice just last week and 6" of ice is still on the ground, we got down to -2 below 0 just 2 days ago and all that snow and ice, became ice...

My baby cousin Caiden has taken a turn for the worse. He was going to be transported from St. Louis to the children's hospital in Indianapolis, one of the best children's hospitals in the country but they have had to hold off. He has a staph infection, which was why he was going to be transported up here, but he has some fluid in his stomach and he's having emergency exploratory surgery either right now or later today. I really want him to make it -- he deserves to have the best life, considering what he's gone through these past few months. He weighs 5.2 pounds, but the doctors think that most of it is fluid.
He was the baby that was born in December but he was due in March.

My MI - people who dis people with autism really piss me off. :thumbd:
If somebody neurotypical is proficient at something, they are recognized as having talents. If someone on the spectrum shows proficiency, it is called a splinter skill and the S word (savant) is often applied. LESS THAN 10% of people with autism ARE prodigious savants, so it is very ironic that this has become the stereotype.
Talents for the NT population and splinter skills for people on the spectrum - that is a damn double standard. :angry1:

I think it sounds stupid to say one is "scrapbooking" or "antiquing." I think making those words into verbs just sounds stupid.
Why not say you're making a scrapbook or working on one or buying antiques or whatever it is you are doing that includes antiques instead?
I also hate bastardized speech. President Harding couldn't get the word "normalacy" out quite right, so he corrupted it to its bastardized form of "normalcy," which never sounded right to me.
I hate the expression "go/went missing" because that is not grammatically correct.

It sounds like a dead or dying mobo. If it stayed on, I'd suspect a shot LCD, but the constant reboots. If it was the power supply, likely it wouldn't turn on at all (might be a good idea to switch batteries though).
Are there any beeps?
If you shake it (carefully), can you hear any loose parts?
http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2008/06/14/laptop-dead-troubleshoot-the-problem/
p.s. Be very careful with laptops. you have to be trained properly to replace parts, vs. desktops which someone can replace the parts pretty easy. This is why I prefer laptops.
If you know what you're doing (and it's not under warranty), remove the HDD so you can pull your files off it. Unfortunatly, if it is a dead mobo, you can't just pop it into another computer. If you reinstall Windows, you can reuse it though.

The New AimeeAndBeatles
Feb 18, 2009, 09:44 AM
If you remove the HDD and either connect it as a slave drive to another computer or get one of those cases to make it external, you can salvage the files.
I'd recommend whichever one you'll feel more comfortable with.
I didn't recommend a boot disc because if you can't get into the BIOS, it's kinda difficult to boot from a CD.
With a dead mobo, you'd have to replace the motherboard (and possibly some other hardware, if you use a different model) and reinstall Windows. I don't know about laptops, but with a desktop a mobo isn't that expensive.
Replacing a mobo is basically the same as buying a new computer, except you already have some parts. Of course, check to see if the cost of replacing the thing is cheaper than taking into a shop.

I know two women who say sugar free chocolate makes them fart.

It can also give you the runs.:cry3:

People saying that I'm using my hypothyroidism as an excuse to be "fat and lazy."
I wish they'd have one day like what I went through. Then they'd know shit I wasn't joking.
I shouldn't let it get to me, though...

I finally got to run a corrupted image scanning thing through -- I lost 87 pictures.
That's not too bad, though, I've got 14336 images. And the ones I lost aren't too hard to replace.

My mom's been sick, so when my dad was out of town, I was taking care of her. Now that my dad's back, I don't have to do it by myself.

I was trying to plug in something and I was under the computer desk and I banged my head. LOL.
And I have a sore throat. Dunno if its the new meds, or the flu that's going around. Maybe both.
