Do you know this rare song? It is actually called Christmas all over again.
It has an intro and outro spoken by George doing christmas greetings and the actual song is an accoustic real christmas song, up-tempo, sounds sometimes like a faster version of 'You' cause it has the same chords line. Most of the vocals come from Tom and I don't think Dylan sings on it or even is there.
It is on some downloading sites.

well this certainly was worth at least one reply and/or comment.

Apr 16 1990 - George appears in Jim Capaldi's video for 前h Lord, Why Lord.' George had done backup for the same song on Capaldi's album 全ome Come Running.' The video was the only promo video shown at the Nelson Mandela concert at Wembley.
I know the Beatles version of this song, but not the one done by the Wilburys.

No worries FPSHOT... I assume it's the same song anyway? "Christmas Time (Is Here Again)" is the one by the Beatles that I'm familiar with and referring to. You'll find it on a number of different bootleg cd's, including any of the following:
*Free As A Bird CD Single (EMI/Apple/Capitol)
*The Beatles Complete Christmas Collection 1963-1969 (Yellow Dog)
*The Beatles Acetates (Yellow Dog)
*Fanthology (Yellow Dog)
*Hodge Podge Vol. 4 (Black Dog Records)
*Ultra Rare Trax Vol. 5 (Swingin' Pig)
*Anthology Plus (Invasion)
*The Ultimate Beatles Christmas Collection (Vigotone)
*Another Sessions... Plus (Vigotone)
*Artifacts II - Northern Songs: 1966-1967 (Big Music)
*The Beatles Christmas Album (Radio Records)
*The Ultimate Christmas Album (Walrus Records)
*Twenty Never Published Songs (Fab Four Rarities)
*The Alternative Magical Submarine Tour And A Little More (Dolphin Productions)
*From Penny Lane To Abbey Road (Luna Records)
*Beatles Sessions (Disques Du Monde)
*Dig It (Condor)
*Backyard Spool (Masterdisc)
*The Beatles Documents Vol. 4 & 5 (Document Records)
*The Psychedelic Years 1966-68 (Banzai)
*The Acoustic Submarine (Teddy Bear)
*Challenger One (Vulture Records)
*The Ultimate Unreleased Collection Vol. 2 (Adam)
*Magical Mystery Demos (Chapter One)
*Finest Collectors Disc 1 (The Only One)
*Recording Sessions Vol. 1 (The Early Years)
Let me know also if you know where I can find the Wilbury's version.

It can be found at Audiogalaxy.com.
I have now listened to about 15 Christmas tunes from the Beatles including that one called Christmas Time Is Here Again (different title) but not one is that one which is listed both as a Wilbury song and as a Tom Petty song so if you can listen to it and let me know again if it is the same song I would appreciate it.
Although my topic title is the one from the Beatles, the title of the song I referred to is Christmas All Over Again.

No worries mate, I bet you'll like the Wilbury tune. Some others who have it were quite positive about it.

Sorry I'm late FPSHOT, but I don't usually come to this part of Beatlinks...
Yep, FPSHOT got me a copy of that song and it ROCKS ! One of Jim Keltner's best performances ! The only pity is that Tom Petty does all the (lead) vocals, would have been nice to hear the other TW's as well.
"Christmas time is here again" by the fabs, is even better (in my opinion). The version on the "Free as a bird" single is an edit the actual song is about 4 or 5 minutes long. I have it on a bootleg but the sound ain't too good...oh well, you can't have everything...

Be seeing you...

Just wondered if you still maybe have this song we were discussing, I never actually saw your reply on this topic until now... if you do have it I would be much appreciative if it wouldn't be too much trouble to send it to me through e-mail - it'd be the first ever Travelling Wilburys song I'd get to listen to, and I know and am sure there'll be many more after I hear it. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Looking at what Hari's Chick posted about this song in the topic George's Ukelele, it now seems that it is a full solo thing by Tom Petty.

I know this thread is old, but theres a song called "Christmas All Over Again" is a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song. Either '92 or '93 Id have to check.
If this is it, from the Playback booklet I can tell where the confusion came from:
"Jimmy Iovine had been after me since I don't know when, because he'd done one Very Special Christmas album already and I never came through for him. I didn't want to do somebody else's song. To me and Mike there's only one Christmas album in the pop field and that's Phil Spector's - that was the only one we could relate to. That really sounds like Christmas to me. So we thought we'd do something like that, eighteen guys, cut it all live." "The funny thing is I wrote the song on a ukelele. George Harrison had come by and given me a ukelele and spent a whole afternoon teaching me the chords. The ukelele is a really cool instrument, even though it doesn't have that image. I took the ukelele with me to my house in Florida in the middle of the summer and wrote this Christmas song. When I got back we had a rehearsal with the Heartbreakers. I think Howie was out of town so Scott Thurston was playing the bass. Then I told Jimmy what I wanted to do and he said, 'Wow, okay.' So he booked all the musicians. There's a really good film that's quite long of us doing that session and you see the whole thing, me taking five people aside at a time and teaching them their part and then going to the next four and teaching them. We had a harp and a harpsichord, Jim Keltner and Stan playing drums as well as a percussionist, we had two bass players, four acoustic guitars, just crazy shit going on. Michael on the 12-string. Just like we had heard it could be done. "It was a lot of fun, but when I finished with it, it was pretty much a mess. I called Jeff Lynne and he came and helped me redo the lead vocal and tidy it up just a little bit. I think Jeff had a good idea for a stop at one point where we put in that long drum fill that really made it happen. And I've always been happy because every Christmas I do hear it on the radio and I really like it."
EDIT: By the way, if its not the same one, if someone still has it try sending it along to me and Ill see if I can identify anything by ear.
