Colliding Circles,Pink Litmus Paper Shirt,Candle Burns(Peace Of Mind),Four Nights In Moscow...

Any of these do NOT belong on a Beatles bootleg CD!!

Theya re all what is known as outfakes,i.e. phony outtakes.
I have seen Candle Burns offered bith as a Beatles and as a Pink Fl;oyd outtake.

I always thought Colliding Circles was actually the Harrison song Circles. The Beatles did an acoustic demo of it for the White Album, and it's on all the bootlegs. It seems legit. Maybe you've got another fake with the same title.

I agree about Circles. It sure is George although I am not sure yet if it a Beatles outtake. Will check.

Circles is a 1968 Harrison demo, recorded at kinfauns once George's home and together with other songs by the beatles, the rest are outfakes.

I see where there's some confusion.
I'm not talking about the Circles George recorded as part of the White Album Demos. I do NOT deny this is legitamate.

There is another outfake from the 70s IIRC called Colliding Circles. Martin Lewis claims it to be a George composition as well.
Considering the first report was by Martin Lewis, one must assume this tpo be a fake.

I apologize for any misinderstanding re Corcles and Colliding Circles.

I had an old bootleg (I think the LP was called 'Indian Rope Trick') way back that had a song called "Peace Of Mind" on it. It was a load of crap, like whispering and moaning and stuff. It was supposed to be this unreleased Beatles song, but it was crap.

I also remember one year at the L.A. Beatlefest about 10 years ago. Some dude rolled up with a stack of brand new bootlegs in his hand. He said it was a rare remix or early version of the entire 'Sgt. Pepper' LP. It even had an alternate cover. Everybody freaked out and bought one. I got home, put it on.....and it sounded like....well, it sucked. It was basically the official LP put through some flange effect or something. I haven't listened to it since.

Thought to bring this back up for everyone just starting to colect bootlegs, or for the ones downloading songs from the internet, save yourself download time if you see above mentioned songs listed as Beatles songs. Tho these already are old and well known to people colection bootlegs for some time. Some more...

I need you - Beatles/McCartney don't think so, again save yourself the download time if you see this one listed as the Beatles.

Let It Be - Two guitar solo's. Fake! The problem is that it is on an otherwise very good bootleg that I have called "Get Back" 2nd Mix. Good boot apart from this "Let It Be" version.

The Inner Light, backing track. - I've been in doubt about this one but after listening very closely I was able to hear George singing! So someone has taken the oficial version and has and tried to edit out George's voice. It almost worked cause this track is still listed as a real outtake in some books.

There are more of this "backing tracks" one of "Yellow Submarine" also is around on a boot. "The Acoustic Submarine" It can't get much worse, a boot that has outfakes and oficially released songs. Fortunately I haven't seen a copy.

Don't know if you can find them on the other side of the ocean but here you still find them sometimes. The alternate series by the Walrus bootleg label, altho old already, last bootleg release from 2000.
These bootlegs, Alternate Revolver, Alternate Sgt. Peppers already contain songs taken from the Anthology series. I would asume that every fan colecting boots already have the Anthology cd's.

Right I'm in for more diging. Been awhile that I've seen intersting new boots, some time since I went to a record fair/Beatles convention. Hope this April to have new boots and see if they are any good.

In the meanwhile I think it's a good idea if anyone has an outfake, not listed here feel free to add them so we can warn each other.

Surprised I hadn't put it here already, but "LS Bumble Bee" isn't a Beatles song.
It's by Dudley Moore & Peter Cook. Unless you really want to hear this instrumental, It's better not to download it.

Some more oldies, Have You Heard The Word, no Beatles but The Fut.A title also presented once as a beatles song Make Love To The End.

I haven't run into any new outfakes or new bootlegs lately, but I only visited a small record fair recently with almost no bootlegs.

There's a lso the long mono Glass Onion where someone unserted other insturmentation into the mix(sound like someone tried to make the news tuff sound like Lenny Knravitz.

The Let It Be sounds like a combination of the LP and 45 mixes. Funnily enough, there is only 1 8-track of the final Let It Be with both guitar solos on it in the EMI vault.

Yes. Tho there is indeed a version of Let It Be with both guitar versions it remains in the EMI vaults, the bootleg versions are fake, and since the version avaiable for download must be taken from a bootleg it can't be the real thing either.
