View Full Version : New BBC Box Set

I was at a swap meet today, and a "new" box set was there. It was a 10 CD set of every single BBC track out there. Of course, the usual "new and improved sound" thing applies. But it does contain a number of "new to CD" tracks, including some rehearsals and other cool stuff. Each CD is in a cardboard jacket that has very nice pictures from their BBC sessions. I have the older 'Great Dane' box set, and this has all of that plus much more of course. It's definitely the most complete set around. It'll probably start showing up on eBay pretty soon.

Grrreeeaaaatttt... how much will this new improved product set me back? Did you notice a price tag?
The 'offical' BBC set from Apple is coming back out soon according to certain websites but with NO bonus tracks.

The dude told me $230. Of course, he also had to tell me that the guy in the next booth was selling it for $250. They're the greatest salepeople around. I could probably get it for $200. That's $20 a CD, so it's not totally out of the question. I mean, regular Beatles CDs are like $17 or $18 after tax. This is all unreleased stuff (except for the 40 or 50 songs on the official BBC release), so it's definitely worth it if you're into this kind of thing. I'll most likely break down next month and just get it. And then maybe I'll put my old BBC box set on the market.

It's really a nice set. I'm going to check out how much "new" stuff is on this compared to my older set when I get home.
