View Full Version : I'm In Love (the lennon-mccartney song)
lennon-mccartney

Does anybody know if there's anything going around with a version of the beatles singing that Lennon-McCartney composition 'I'm In Love'?
Also, is there any bootleg with the beatles singing all the songs they gave away, such as the song I just mentioned, Tip Of My Tongue, Oo You, World Without Love, Bad To Me, From A Window, etc?
That would be a really good thing to have. Do any of you (JERRY mainly) have anything like this?
Thank you my children.

I don't remember a version of "I'm In Love." Maybe there was something during the 'Get Back' sessions, but I'm not sure. But there definitely is a version of them doing "Bad To Me." It's got both of them singing and playing acoustic guitars. Very early, and very nice to listen to. If you win the contest again, I'll throw it on there for you. As for the others, nothing comes to mind right now. If they're out there, they're probably from the 'Get Back' sessions when they were just warming up or fooling around. There are several loose jams of very early Lennon-McCartney songs, but I don't remember the titles. It's slowly coming back to me...something like "Just Fun" or another called "Woke Up In The Morning?"

Good Evening dear Lennon-McCartney,
I happen to have what you are looking for right now. I am actually listening to I'm In Love as I write. If you still want it I can forward it on via email to you (I have it on MP3), or I can burn it for you.
I also have Billy J. Kramer & the Dakota's singing From a Window.

FPSHOT: I only know that it is John Lennon's Demo. Maybe LM would know more about it, or perhaps Jerry. Can anyone help on this question?

I think I know what's gonna be the next radio broadcast. I have a good CD of demos of unreleased Lennon songs. It includes a few versions of "Real Love" and "Free As A Bird," including the ones the other 3 Beatles started with for the Anthology releases. All in all, a great CD of just John and a guitar or piano.

Tim, got the milk, thanks.
On I'm in love, someone told me that this is not from the Dakota days, but from 1963.
Doug Sulpy's essential book "The 910's Guide to Beatles Outtakes" seems to say that this dates back to '63. Vocally it matches his voice from that period too.

'I'm In Love' is indeed an early song.
'Sour Milk Sea' is fantastic. I really like it. It was one of the songs included on the bootleg I got of Jerry recently for winning the monthly squid. Which, incidentally, is equally fantastic!

I must win the monthly one to get the bootleg, so maybe I just sit and wait for a bit till the next question comes forward.
Is there a standard time for that?
