I was surfing the other day and ran across a site claiming to have an mP3 of John and Paul doing "Stand By Me" from "Rock n Roll". Does anyone know about this or what site its actually on? Thanks!

I'm not sure which site has the MP3. I have the bootleg, but it's very hard to listen to. If I remember correctly, it's got Stevie Wonder on drums or something like that. I suppose it's historic because it's really the only time that John & Paul ever recorded together after the group split up. But I remember that one of the guitars was WAY out of tune, and it ruined the whole recording. I'll have to dig it out and listen to it again.

Actually, it was Paul on drums.
Other people include Stevie Wonder, Harry Nilsson, Jesse Ed Davis, Bobby Keys, Mal Evans and May Pang..

I can only suggest you visit this webpage taken from a wonderful website http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif

The boot that Stand By Me is on is called 'A Toot And A Snore in '74'. Recorded in L.A. during the 'Pussycats' sessions in March '74. A major letdown. I had heard about this session years before the boot ever came out and was most disappointed by it. The entire tape (courtesy May Pang) runs about 30 minutes and nothing from it is really worth a second listen. So sad.
