Walls and Bridges went to #1 in the USA (November 16 - 22, 1974)
and May Pang received an RIAA gold record award for her work on the album.
Does anyone know exactly what the award was for ???
Easy... Justin

From what I understand, the RIAA Gold and Platinum Awards were created to award the high sales of sound recordings.
A Gold album award for the sale of 500,000 copies. The Platinum award means that 1,000,000 were sold. There's also multi-Platinum and Diamond awards.
There can be many "copies" of those original awards, since everyone even connected with the record got one. In other words, John Lennon got one, the recording engineer got one, the producer got one, the record company got one, the music publicist got one, the cover designer got one, everyone credited with anything on any individual song on the album, or on the album as a whole, got one. That's probebly how May got one too.

Oh I see now. Thanx.
May Pang was the Production Co-ordinator so she automatically gets one.
But she wouldn't have been presented with it at the big Grammy Award presentation night...
it might have been posted to her by mail... whatever ???

yes that is correct. there is no public presentation of these types of awards, they are not like Grammys. May would have received hers in the mail or by a courier service.
