Hey, I'm thinking about getting the movie Let It Be, but I'd rather not buy it if it is just footage of the beatles arguing (which i heard somewhere). So, anyway, are there any happy moments or just all sad moments where they are arguing. Thanks!

"Let It Be" began as a documentary of the Beatles recording an album. They were in their final stages of being a group, so yes there are some arguments in it. The good thing about this movie is that when they play their songs, it's still got a magical touch to them.

The crowning touch of the film has to be the rooftop concert they do at the end of the movie. It's lunchtime and the streets are full of people milling about and trying to figure out what's going on.

All-in-all, I recommend getting this movie. The good parts do outweight the bad.

I’ve never understood why people say Let It Be is all arguments and bickering. There’s one scene which everybody has seen, where George retaliates to Paul with “I’ll play whatever you want me to play” etc, but that’s it, it’s hardly an argument, can you imagine the Kinks recording sessions?? George is p***ed off with Paul, what’s the big deal? The rest is great music and some nice moments; John and Paul singing into the mic clowning around, George and Ringo playing Octopus’s Garden to George Martin, the great run through of some old rock n’ roll numbers, with the brilliant ‘Dig It’. And then there’s George getting electrocuted graemlins/electric2.gif and the rooftop concert. They do all look a bit fed up at times, and Paul does start to grate, but no full-scale rows. There’s a famous photo from the session which shows all the Beatles at the mixing desk looking miserable, and this photo is always used in books to illustrate “how the Beatles fell apart.” But then I saw a photo, which is very rarely shown, taken moments later where they are all laughing! The only problem is there’s not enough dialogue, and there were some great scenes shown on the Anthology series which aren’t included, but hopefully they will be on the Apple DVD release. If you’re a Beatles fan buy it.

a funny momets are with Ringo, in two scenes one when Heater play the drums, and other when he stars the demo of Octopuss Garden with Harrison, and George Martin

the other its the final of the rooftop concert

I really enjoy Let It Be, i think it was an incredible , raw album and its interesting to see what was going on with the beatles at this time in thier career. It's not upbeat and jolly like thier other movies, but they had grown up then. There are very nice parts of the movie, i love when John sings "why dont we put it on the toast" in the tune of "Why Dont we do it in the Road". Anf, of corse, the rooftop concert!

How come Linda's not shown in the movie, but we see her in the clips from Anthology? Cute little Heather's there, but sign of Linda. Hmmmm.. graemlins/thinker.gif

I have a bootleg VHS copy, but it has an annoying glitch every once in awhile. So I found a bootleg DVD copy, but from what I remember, the sound wasn't completely matched to the film. I'll have to watch it again to make sure. I'd like to copy the DVD onto the VHS tape and sell it actually.

I've been listening to the Day By Day series, which is pretty much everything recorded for the sessions, and I can only remember Heather there for one day. In fact, she basically ruins a really sweet and long run-through of Dig It, which has to be about 15 minutes long. She's screaming and wailing into the mic for over half of it, it's really annoying. A Yoko in training? Anyway, Linda is also there that day, and I seem to remember hearing her voice on a few other days too.
