I just read on some website that John, Paul, George and Ringo didn't lend their voices for the Yellow Submarine movie?!

Is this true or just crap?

On this website, it said that they were too busy to get together for the making of the film and
got other people to do thier voices. Please tell me that this isn't the case!

They didn't originally think an animated movie of them would fare well. They made up excuses so as not to get involved with the project. When they finally saw rough drafts of the film, they quickly changed their minds and wanted to lend their own voices. By this time though, it was too late to change it over. They settled with their cameo appearance at the end of the movie.

This just made me think of something I saw in TV last night. Geoffrey Hughes, the actor who did the voice for Paul in the film is quite well known over here, as he has appeared in various sit coms and soaps. I was watching Richard Gere being interviewed on a British chat show last night, and apparently Geoffrey Hughes once drove into him in central London and knocked him of his motorbike!

Cute story! I don't know a thing about the actors whose voices were used for Yellow Sub. I wonder if the others' are famous?

Michael Angelis (Ringo)was in the comedy drama 'Boys From The Black Stuff' in the early 80s, and there's a Coronation Street link there too, because he was married to one of the cast. Not sure about John Clive (John).

Didn't he also take over Thomas The Tank Engine when Ringo stopped doing it?<font size="2" face="Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif">Yeah. It just wasn't the same without Ringo...

He was also in the latest series of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet on BBC1.
