View Full Version : AHDN on DVD -- Premiere at Chicago Beatlefest

I forgot to start a topic about this earlier -- we got to see the new DVD version of A Hard Day's Night at Beatlefest yesterday. They've done a great job with it -- I caught dialogue and details I've never seen before. Looks like it's definitely worth getting. Before the showing, they asked us to buy the DVD in the first week to give it strong sales; that way it will do even better. So, mark the date (9/24) on your calendars!

Sandra's right, it was AWESOME! I even told Martin Lewis so, and I don't seek Martin out for ANYTHING! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/laugh2.gif Seriously, though, they did a beautiful job on the film cleanup, and I think the second disc of interviews and bloopers and outtakes will be worth it as well!

I'm getting it for my birthday! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/bouncing2.gif

The DVD comes out the same day Paul is here in Chicago...so at least I get to sit at home and watch Paulie in widescreen instead of sobbing that I don't have a ticket for the show. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry5.gif I shouldn't complain, though--I did get to see him in April when he was here.

This comment made my day. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Well, since Evil Vile Ticketmaster cheated me out of my ticket for Paul, I guess I have the money to buy a DVD player for when this comes out. Small silver lining, but nonetheless....

What a wonderful Christmas present I'm getting.

Yeah, seeing it in Chicago was a BALL! I loved it when people cheered and danced during the movie. It was so much fun to watch it with people who understand and even cheer and sing as well. AHDN is an interactive experience. You sing with the Beatles, say the lines with the cast, dance and cheer. I thought most folks understood that. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/joker.gif It was nice to be able to enjoy it with others. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup2.gif

I just reserved my copy today from Amazon.com. God, I can't WAIT for it to arrive! I'm so excited about this--I'll have to tie my boyfriend into his chair and make him watch it with me. (I think he's a little jealous of my other lover-man, John! But my sweet boyfriend's irreplaceable. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/heart.gif http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/heart.gif )

3. How much is it?

there were alternate takes of Ringo walking away along the river towpath and the tire that rolls up behind him and causes him to fall. In one take the tire was thrown at him. It was hilarious
