My fav place on Earth is Mount everest. I have never climbed it, only one Croat ever did-Stipe Božić. He climbed it twice. I like him very much, he looks like Jackie Chan. Not to say I'll never climb it. I've already climbed Triglav, a 2864m high mountain in the Julian Alpes. Slovenia's highest peak, and the highest peak in ex-Yougolsavia. I've climbed it in summer and in wimter, both from south and north. South at summer is the easiest-it's just basically a tourist climbe of biblical proportions. You have to conquear about 30 miles of walk, the incline is 40% at the most. there's one trick, though. you come across an abyss to hte right, and a wall-like rock 1 km high on the left, with a part of it 3 feet sticking out horizontally, right at the same hight as you. So, you have to walk across 300 feet of a path 3 feet wide, on your right in an abyss of 2000 feet. We usually go across it at least 10 of us a rope attached to each, and connected to the neighbour(s) with it. North at summer is 2nd. It's a 3000 feet high rock, incline 90%. Alpinistic climb. North at winter, now at this point you already have to be nuts, ONLY nutters go conquering Alpean peaks at winter. It's close to suicide, if you're not a fully trained alpinist of the HIGHEST callibre, like I am. South at winter-for this you have, FIRST of all, to get a licence and a permition from the Slovenian alpinistic security assotiation, you have to take a sort of exam of theirs, plus avalanche expetation must be 3 at max, they allow 4 only to EXTREMElY dependeble alpinists, like me. Second of all, you have to put on skies, cause you would otherwise simply fall through 15 feets of snow. Then you have to go through that same 30 miles, only you climb by moving your legs orthogonally to the direction you're moving, when the incline reaches 20 %. What kind of stamina you have to have conclude for your selves. Then the path, on 15 feets of snow, on skies. I ONLY once climbet the southern approach, it was me and another guy. But that was the point-my goal was south a twinter and i achieved it. I intend to climb Everest, ive been preparing for the climb, due May 2009, for 3 months continouosly now. This topic is about YOUR fav part of nature.

The world is full of nature still and full of variation. I love that and since I very much am a "nature" person...I am within nature a lot and read and watch a lot about it as well.
From the options you have in the poll I chose the Amazon, I hope you mean the Amazon area in South America. For what's left of it. It is amazing to read how much forrest is taken down already... I have a map from the National Geographic magazine which shows what was the Amazon area 50 years back and how it looks like now. Shocking.
The both Poles, North and South, both have their beauty as well ofcourse even though I think many people will think of it as a silent white place. It's more than that.
I have seen Michael Palin's series about the Sahara and that really is an eye opener.. one can hardly imagine being in the 21st century when you see how tribes still live there and how ancient villages from decades ago still are untouched and how people live there who will have no idea who The Beatles are or even that a thing like a CD exists but still have their own beautiful lives.
I can not so much combine all the things you mention to nature, like "China" which I would love to visit for the cultural aspect...however...where to begin???
India is on my list of places to visit someday but I will avoid Mumbay and focus on the whide green hills and land which is so gorgeous.
Same goes for Eastern Europe like Mongolia.

I really love the Pacific Northwest, the redwood forest down to the rocky beaches. I love the fog which hangs over the trees, the light filtering through the towering green, the soft padded forest floor which you can run barefoot through without it even hurting. I love the smell of the campfires in summer (I know, ozone issues, my bad). I love spring when the meadows are filled with wildflowers. I love the wildlife I have crossed paths with in the area~ the magestic wild wapiti while canoeing, gentle deer coming up to cabins, barking sealions which will wake you up in the morning from miles away! I love watching the migration of the grey whale along the coast.

I love going to the Rockies. When we lived in Calgary (Canada) I could see the mountains in the distance from my living room window but going there, ah, that was different! We used to be up there at least once a month and I never tired of it. If I should name the one thing I miss the most after we moved the Rockies would be at the top. They're so majestic! And when you get close - awe inspiring!
There are so many spots I could mention in the Rockies that are just wonderful. Here's one of my favorites, Moraine Lake. Lake Louise is more well known and perfectly beautiful of course, but, well, I like this one better!
