I found this on You Tube set to Happy Christmas (War is Over), I am warning you now that its quite harrowing to watch (made me weep) but please in the name of Love, Peace and John lets spare a thought to all the people suffering in the world and lets pray for an end to it all. John would be horrified if he saw the world today and quite rightly so, the governments involved (including our own) should hang their heads in shame.

Yes sadie it is harrowing but we all need to be made aware that no matter where we live, what colour our skin or whatever religion or beliefs we follow, none of us are untouched by the horrors of the world and none of us are entirely blameless. :cry2:

Which is why, certainly most of us here would advocate peace and love! :peace: :heart1:

i wonder if there's more than just advocate peace that one can do. I even think John didnt go far enough, fighting for peace. Although he did threaten the Nixon administration, thank god. But he didnt win. sickos still rule the world. That HAS to be undone.

Yeah that one is a bit difficult for me to watch. But i guess it does kinda fit with the actual message of the song. It's on the Lennon Legend DVD cuz I remember seeing it before.

I agree Sadie, that video is very hard to watch. I saw it once, and couldn't even get through it because its just one of those things that really cut through you.

The song itself is probably my favourite, or at least one of my favourite, Christmas songs. Its a highlight of the Christmas season for me, playing that song. Probably because I never play it at any other time of the year lol!

Certain lines in the song, and the emotion with which John sings them, just give me such chills!!

Oh and did anyone know, that if you listen to the song with headphones (well I was using ipod earbud headphones, but I'm sure it would work with other headphones) at the beginning when you hear yoko whisper "Happy Christmas Yoko" John whispers "Happy Christmas, Julian"? I had never really heard it clearly and had just assumed that he was saying "Happy Christmas John" since Yoko wished herself a merry Christmas....But no, he says it to Julian. I thought that was kinda cute..

I think she's actually saying "Happy Christmas Kyoko" which was the name of her daughter. :wink1:

Yeah-it has a lot of shock value to it. I remember first seeing it on the LL dvd and how horrified I was. Yoko is known to do that sort of thing. Regardless, I understand that she's just keeping the cause alive. And in light of this ongoing stupid war, Yoko jumped back on that bandwagon that she rode with John and re-made the HC/WIO video. We all know it's really an anti-war song anyway. Reminding us how lucky we are and how unlucky so many others are. Yeah, it's hard to watch and I'm not sure if John would have wanted the video to be so "in your face". But, I'm sure he'd approve of the spirit behind it in which it was intended. After all, peace is something he was fought so hard for.

Oh yes! I forgot that was her daughter's name!

Its so sad that her daughter was virtually kidnapped from her by her ex husband...
