I find them highly philosophical. Written by Robert Plant. I heard hes extremely arrogant, but I like his look (again, im not a fag), he has the sharpest voice ive heard. I like him. I ve even heard he wrote the whole song, but i dont believe that, i think Page wrote the music.

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold-i think its a metaphore for materialism
And she's buying a stairway to heaven-this is deep-he says the "someone" is by his own will and decisions reaching heaven
and when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
with a word she can get what she came for-just implifies it
There's a sign on the wall, but she wants to be sure-
and you know words sometimes have two meanings-completely enigmatic, maybe he means that by trying to reach heaven, you'll actually wynd up in hell, and the "someone" wants to be sure it's heaven, not hell

and it makes him wonder if the person is right
