Hi all,

The last thing I was expecting in watching
the movie "An Unmarried Woman" the other
night was Jill Claybourgh and the girl who
plays her daughter in this film sitting
down at the piano and singing "Maybe I'm
Amazed". Well, it indeed happened which
simply goes to show that the Beatles can
crop up almost everywhere!... amazing-http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

Oh, I know what you mean. I was doing crossword puzzles last night and there were three Beatles references in two puzzles! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

That's really something Rellevart!-- well,
I'm hoping that in a way perhaps hidden to
us mere "non-Beatles"--(though I've always
wanted to be George-http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif that things can just
keep croping up in the land of the Beatles
to make each and every one of us see that
peace & love--(as Ringo would say) should
indeed be the goal-- regardless of what
we as a people are "into" otherwise...

Just saw a Beatles reference on the TV show According to Jim. Jim kicks his brother-in- law Andy out of this band he has, and defends his action by stating the Beatles took off after they sacked Pete Best! To which Jim's wife Cheryl replies, "Well, Pete Best wasn't Paul McCartney's brother-in-law." Jim responds, "You don't know that, Cheryl!"

I was perusing the posts here when I heard that remark. Needless to say, Beatles references always get my attention!

I was watching the Simpsons tonight...It was the episode where Bart goes to live with Mr. Burns and is going to become his heir. Well anyway, there was this man who was supposed to "deprogram" Bart from the "brainwashing" he got from Burns...So anyway, this is what I hear:

Deprogrammer: "My greatest achievement was getting Paul McCartney out of Wings."

Homer: "You idiot! He was the most talented one!"

There are TONS of Beatles stuff "hidden" and not so hidden on The Simpsons. I bet the writers are fans...

Oh, man, if they aren't fans then they sure fake it well.
Let's see, Paul and Linda were on to advocate going veggie with Lisa.
George was on and alerted Homer to the whereabouts of donuts (I think he even floated mystically away, if memory serves)
I seem to recall Ringo being on, but not the reason.
Then there was the singing quartet the Homer was a part of that did a parody of the rooftop Get Back session complete with Homer wearing a John Lennon fur coat.
Can anyone else remember other references?

I love the Beatle references on the Simpsons!!! Well since AB got the big ones, I will say that Ringo was on there because he finally saw the painting Marge did of him since he was her favorite! And he sent her a fan letter...I love that show!

George comes back during the rooftop concert and says, "It's been done."

On the 6:30 "Will & Grace" the other night, as they sat at a piano in Grace's attempt to keep her hold on Will tighter, they started rehearsing an awful version of "In My Life!"

Bart says "I KNEW you were an angel!" And the guy says, "No--this CD, 'Wings Greatest Hits.'" *puts the CD in his Discman and you hear Band on the Run playing* images/icons/smile.gif

There's another episode I haven't seen in a long while, but it's where Lisa is having a dream where she's flying, and the dream looks like something out of Yellow Submarine--and a Yellow Sub comes floating past! One of the Beatles says "Look, it's Lisa in the sky...with diamonds!"

I love the episodes with George, Ringo, and Paul. My favorite line was in the one with Paul...
Paul: "We met Apu years ago when we were in India."
Apu: "Back then I was known as the Fifth Beatle."
Paul: "Sure you were, Apu."

Don't forget when Bart sees Marge's painting of Ringo up in the attic he asks Homer:

"Hey, who's the Mop-Top with the big schnoz?!"

There was a Beatles reference on 'All in the Family.'

Gloria: "When I was fourteen, I thought the Beatles hair was beautiful."

And there was a reference to Ringo in an 'Archie Bunker's Place' episode. This kid smartmouths to Archie saying that his name is Ringo Starr, when Archie asks what the kid's name was (after discovering they were smoking pot in the house). And Archie believed that his name was Ringo! LOL! images/icons/smile.gif
