I rembered that kid in AHDN and he had stuff on his face? well you know that kid that Ringo was walking with Charlie. I couldnt think of what that was on the lower part of the kids face was.

I've always thought that it's dirt to symbolise that the kid is just a typical kid who likes getting muddy and skipping school

I read that one of the extras included in the Hard Day's Night DVD is an interview with the actor who played that kid. Maybe he will explain the makeup job on that.
