For the musician who also owns that car that parks itself:

I read about this. Freaky. I think I'm a little too old-school for that...

Yeah... I don't want to lose the human element in everything! Especially not where the guitar is concered.

I would think that this feature would be very helpful in public performances. Tuning the guitar would take little effort especially in loud venues. Although the electronic tuners are easy as well, and could take less time?
Very interesting design though, using the strings to pass the voltage.

It is quite impressive. But, I like to turn those pegs!

i am not impressed with the automatic tuners at all, it takes the fun and the human quality out of being a real guitarist.

The link doesn't work any more, but kmac's comment about the voltage makes me think it's not the same system I heard about a couple of years ago (which can be seen here (http://transperformance.com/perform/index2.htm)). If you go to "Multimedia" and watch the video on the right you'll see how it works. Hearing that gives me the goose pimples, I don't know why. I cannot remember whether the price of the invention is somewhere in that site, or whether I asked it, but it was really expensive. And I don't want it, either. It'd almost be like cheating!

Thanks! It's a different mechanism, but I think a very similar price. But for all that money, I'd rather buy myself a 12-string Rickenbacker like the first of George's!
