Princess Diana is the icon most people would wish to bring back from the dead.
More than a third of Britons would like her to return – even for just five minutes – a survey revealed yesterday.
The tragic Princess was followed in the poll by Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, John Lennon and George Harrison. At sixth position in the top 10 was Jesus Christ.
In Liverpool Diana was the surprise No1 choice at the expense of Lennon, the cityís most famous star.
The survey also asked people which five minutes of history they would change if they could. Dianaís death in Paris in August 1997 ranked highly on the list.
But 65 per cent of Britons said the 9/11 terror outrage was a moment in history they would try to reverse.
The survey also uncovered some surprising aspirations.
Given the chance to be anyone for five minutes, 40 per cent of the people surveyed – 16 per cent of them men – would choose to be the Queen.
The survey was commisioned by Virgin Mobile to launch its Get Paid As You Go scheme, which sees customers who use their mobiles for five minutes being rewarded with five minutes free every day.
