I liked the fun, campy, kitchy Herman's Hermits, another good British Invasion band from the Ford Falcon era.

What's going on with Peter Noone these days?

In 1991 he did a very sick parody of his own 1965 hit, "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter." It was a gruesome spoof about the Dahmer murders and I didn't like that. I was curious what the Hermster was up to these days.

No Milk Today always sticks by me because at the time I was helping a milkman door-to-door :thumbu1:

He does something on American Idol I've been told.

I remember No Milk Today. I was the only kid in second grade who knew that song, or any Herman's Hermits songs for that matter.

i met peter noone a few months ago in denver. he's a nice guy i guess. still looks and sounds really good for his age. honestly i didn't know who he was by name before that.

he was selling a newly recorded album of his old hits which includes no milk today. i'm not crazy about that one. dandy was much cuter. i think he was a guess judge on american idol, i didn't see it.

He does something on American Idol I've been told.
During the last season he was the vocal coach during one of the episodes along with Lulu. The theme was of course "Ford Falcon era songs", excuse me, I mean "60s songs." It was interesting hearing him give advise to the contestants--I never really thought of him as an exceptional singer, but his input was spot on as you might expect from a seasoned professional. Then during the vote recap episode he sang a song (I forget which one) and so did Lulu. Let's just say he could have used the Hermits; but Lulu was awesome!

I really like them and saw them when they did a tour to New Zealand years ago. Went with my mum and my friend's mum (my friend - actually ex-friend - was too cool to come you see!). After the show we met them all and one of them pinched my mum on the backside. I have told that story a million times on here already but I just love it. haahaaa.

Peter Noone plays "oldie" shows from time to time. In the Late 80's he did theater. I saw him in the Pirates of Penzance. Very friendly man. My dad remembers him from the 60's as "the guy with the cracked tooth". I guess he's had dental work since then.:laugh5:

Peter always looked like a blond Osmond to me:

I got their hits cd one Christmas, and they did a really
nice version of Skeeter Davis's "End of the World," really pretty.

"Ford Falcon era songs",

I have been around in the music scene since 1854 but never hear of this Ford Falcon stuff LOL

He reminds me of a very young Jimmy Carter.

I like Herman's Hermits; always have. "No Milk Today;" "I'm into Something Good" and "Got a Feeling" from "Hold On," are my favorites.

I saw Peter Noone minus his bandmates once. It was a good show. I also liked the ersatz "AHDN" 1966 movie, "Hold On." Campy and predictable with tepid acting, true, but I liked the music (too bad the other Hermits were not defined by their individual personalities as were their forerunners, the Beatles) and the cool Chryslers, the 1965 Plymouth Belevederes! (The cousins to the serious Dodge Dart and the very serious Dodge Coronet)! :thumbu2

Whatever became of the other Hermits?

Good old Pedro Nunez. He did a cover of David Bowie's "Oh, You Pretty Things". Herman's Hermits are good to listen to, just a nice band from the sixties. "No Milk Today" is my favourite song of theirs.

I believe Leck Leckenby passed away a couple
of years ago, didn't he? He was the one with
the glasses, and I think it was he who played
the nice guitar in "End of the World."

Spoof of 1965's "Henry the 8th"

That's a Honda Accord it, is
Honda Accord it is, it is.
It belongs to the widow next door
And she's owned 7 new cars before.

Every car was a Honda (HONDA)!
She wouldn't by a Chevy or a Ford (No Ford)!
It's her 8th new car, a Honda,
Honda Accord it is!

Second Gear, Have No Fear

That's a Honda Accord it, is
Honda Accord it is, it is.
It belongs to the widow next door
And she's owned 7 new cars before.

H - O - N - D - A! Honda! HONDA!
Honda Accord it is it, Honda Accord it is!

I actually saw him in concert last december and it was quite a fun show, he did a lot of the hermits hits and other british invasion songs. He also chatted with many fans after the show and I got his autograph..he's a fun performer.
