I can finally pull off two Barre chords on my acoustic! Bm and the barre chord with all 6 strings barred and an E major chord behind it.
I'm so happy!! I can't play them for very long because my fingers get sore, especially the pinky which I'm not used to using, but at least I can do them now!!

Congratulations! That's a huge leap forward. But don't be too modest. As you've told it, it seems you can play all the E-like chords plus one chord, when in fact you can play all the E-like chords plus all the Am-like chords! It's normal that you cannot keep those chords for a long time, mainly now that you've just begun to play them (at the beginning, one tends to use much more strength to keep all the strings ringing than is needed, and so the hand strains more). Be careful not to press too hard, and that will save you hand cramp and finger grinding! :teeth1:
Next step: the Em-like barre chords. Those are rather easy. All you've got to do is whisper in my ear the words... Oh, no, wrong idea. All you've got to do is remove a finger.

Great! Add the A-like chords and you're good to play almost anything.
And like EGC said, the Em-like chords are rather easy. Play them in front of someone you're really angry with and lifting that one finger will come naturally.

That's great! Once you get the hang of these they can make guitar playing actually easier! At least I think so! :laugh5:

Yeah, barre chords are a bitch, but they're invaluable, especially when playing Beatle songs. Just knowing Bm, C#m and F#m opens up a whole world of Beatle-y goodness! Congrats!

Thanks!
Yeah Bm I've found appears ALOT in beatles, and especially John songs. But its a very nice sounding chord. I love minor chords, they sound so beautiful!
