Of course, everyone knows Syd Barrett and I have always taken for granted things I've read about him over the decades but since his passing I've been listening to his stuff and even learned terrapin on the uke after watching david gilmour playing it (although not on a uke)...anyway, better late than never to discover a genius to enjoy.

His solo work is really good. For a long time i hesitated to buy his two solo albums because "Astronomy Domine" was his only song for Pink Floyd that I like, but there are some hidden gems on his solo albums. "Domino" and "Baby Lemonade" being two of them. That clip of "Astronomy Domine" comes from David's latest live dvd, which is beautiful btw. There is a short meeting of David and Roger on one of the extra's.

I personally love his work with Pink Floyd.
It's gorgeous psychedelia with a hint of prog to come.
I've liked what I've heard of his solo work but I haven't fully "discovered" it yet, - can't wait to, though.
Come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine..

Syd was amazing. He was truly a one of a kind artist who had a knack for whimiscal, child-like lyrics, and his melodies that were just out of this world. His music is fun, catchy, and because of that, it's some of the only Floyd I can stomach anymore (Along with a couple of their later albums). Not to mention, imo his solo stuff is the only solo Floyd worth looking into. That being said, The Madcap Laughs is fucking brilliant, and Barrett is fantastic.
