I have it on tape and it's been years since I last watched it. IMHO it's rather boring. The only good thing in this movie is of course John. Without him, I think nobody would ever even remember the whole film.

I found my copy at suncoast video and I think it cost about 14 dollars which isn't to bad I guess. I sort of liked it, the movie had it's moments, like when John shoots off the flares, but all in all it's an ok movie to see once or twice but it isn't worth much more than that.

I love How I won the War!!! It is brilliant!! sure its a bit slow going in places, and a little dated, but it is a classic in my opinion.. Highly eccentric, with a very important anti war message, which is still very relevant today. I waited years and years to see it..and finally taped it off MGM last year!! well worth the wait!!It originally screened when i was about 10 - but i forgot it was on (i wouldnt have understood it then anyway)so i had to wait TEN full years.. Never seen it on video here in NZ.. Anyway, its great, Kinda Like Wonderwall in a way - so different and ahead of its time..Its also got Roy Kinnear (Help) and coincidentally Jack Macgowran (the Excorist and main role in WONDERWALL)in it!! My favourite part is when John empties the water out of the roller...
