DVD Reissues??? [Archive] - BeatleLinks Fab Forum

I've heard a rumor circulating around, that they are going to release "AHDN" "Help!" "MMT" and "Let It Be" along with one of the videos on the making of "AHDN" on DVD sometime this summer! This would be great for still Newbie fans like me, cuz I'd really like to see all the Beatles movies! Can anyone tell me if this is true???

A Hard Day's Night has apparently been out of print for a while now. I'd have put more effort into tracking down a copy except I've heard that it will be reissued to rectify this. Also, am I wrong in thinking that A Hard Day's Night was the first DVD ever made?

A Hard Day's Night wasn't the first DVD, but one of the first 400 (along with Help! and MMT)

You know, I looked up AHDN on Amazon.com a few weeks ago, and I could have sworn it said the DVD would be released in June 2002. But now, it just says "Release date to be determined." http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/angry9.gif It's got a really high sales ranking by the way, so perhaps that'll encourage 'em to release it soon!

I heard that the new DVDs will be released by Miramax (the old ones were from MPI), so maybe they'll have new extra footage! I recently bought the MPI DVD of "Help!" (from Ebay), and I think I might get AHDN too - I'm can't wait any longer! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/tongue2.gif

Well, I've got the most recent mailing of the Beatlefest catalog, and it's in there...that's all I know about it. I can't imagine them selling it but not actually having it in yet....

My mistake... it was the Beatlefest website that said AHDN would be released in June, not Amazon.com. It still says "June 2002" on the website, and they're taking pre-orders. They also claim that "Miramax is putting together some extra footage for the brand new version." YIPPEE! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/thumbsup1.gif

You see wharn I started searching for AHDN on DVD about a year and a half ago it said (on amazon) that it would be released March of 2001 that didn't happen. I check in April agian it said end of the year. On one site www.suncoast.com (http://www.suncoast.com) that it is going to be released December 31, 2010. At the time of when I saw this I thought it would never happen. But as each week goes by it sure seems like it.

But, at least we know they're working on a AHDN re-issue. But what about the other films? I haven't heard a thing about Help, MMT or Let It Be. No, but really, my neighbors said if I borrowed AHDN one more time, they'd take away my privileges!!

8 years, no Beatles DVD's..... I'm gonna die.... (Not really) That's gonna be five years after I graduate..... that's a really long time.

I remember the cartoons! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/smile1.gif I watched them when they were on MTV back in the '80s. I loved them, though I really hated the voices. I remember thinking that Ringo was really funny. *sigh* Remember when MTV used to show Beatles videos? Those were the days...

I thought I saw an online petition once for bringing back the cartoons, but I don't remember where. I know a few sites sell bootleg tapes of them. I think Apple now owns the rights to the cartoons, but there are no plans to release them anytime soon. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/frown.gif

I went to Best Buy this morning to see if they had the Yellow Submarine DVD in. At the present time, no. (I'll have to wait till Monday to get it.)

But, while I was there, I talked to some of the workers. They told me rumors were circulating around the electronics stores that Beatles movies were being re-issued in the near future!

So, it just might be absolutely true that AHDN, possibly Help!, MMT, and Let it Be are going to be re-released soon!!!

A HARD DAY'S NIGHT REISSUE
"Although previously announced releases dating back as far as March 20, 2001 on VHS and DVD, we have a strong feeling that Miramax will probably release it sometime in September, 2002. As soon as we get any further definite information, we will post it, right here. We have been told that the DVD version will be using 5.1 technology. To all the hundreds who have ordered AHDN from us, you can be assured that they will be processed and shipped the very day we get them. Nobody will have them before us. For all of you who keep asking about when Let It Be is coming out oon VHS and DVD, there is nothing officially announced, but we have a feeling that next year may be the year. Please remember this is speculation. As soon an anything official is announced, we will pass the information along on this page."

If that's the official release date, I'm sure we'll hear about it soon from other sources. And I hope they're right about Let It Be!

Did I ever mention that red-necks working at Best Buy is a bad combination?!

Just wondering, but, anyroad...I went into town today to get Yellow Submarine, and the lady there said that it had never been released on DVD!! What the heck?!

So, me and Daddy walked over to Barnes&Nobles bookstore and found it there.

While we were in there, I asked the lady running the counter if AHDN was going to be released soon.

Guess what?! She's heard about it and the definite answer is yes, sometime soon! I like her a lot! She's very nice! (And a BIG Beatles fan!)

I really don't get it!

I went to www.barnesandnoble.com (http://www.barnesandnoble.com) and it said DVD/VHS release on "Help!" is 10/31/1995. They have the VHS in stock.

It also says it is available to order and ships in about 2-3 days.

Magical Mystery Tour is available from here too, on DVD only.

No news on Let it Be though. I'm still waiting to hear about that one.
