Help is a great movie, with a very interesting type of humor. The songs are great, and the sets are great too...My fave scenes are when they're in the Buckingham Palace and during the The Night Before video http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/grin.gif

Well, if they haven't seen it, how can they comment on their favourite scene??
My fave scene is when Paul was mistakenly injected with the shrinking serum. During the following fight scene John gets one of them onto the table and starts bashing him with the phone, but if you listen carefully you hear him say "Oh sorry, I hit 'im.".

I love Help! It was my favorite movie to watch as a kid. While other kids were watching the fads of the day, I was begging my mom to put in Help! I can sit and watch it and say all the lines. A fine achievement since for many years I didn't know half the time what they were saying because sometimes their accents are very thick!!
I love the part in the palace, when they stick the hose out the window.

i love help! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/help.gif my flatmate and i used to watch it at least once a week when we were supposed to be studying. now, when i ring her and she answers the phone, i say "go to the window! gooo tooo the window!" it's a fabulous film and they all look great! my favourite scene has to be "you've got to hide your love away." john with that beautiful 12-string and his great facial tic, paul with his winks and (ohhhh...) http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/inlove2.gif his leaning, george with his pouting and "look at me! look at me!" tactics, and the famous ringo being the wonderful famous ringo with his famous tambourine.

Really? I'll have to pay more attention, 'cos recently I got the original version...before that, I only had the spanish version, and it's not very good.
Another strange scene (besides George shoplifting http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/wink.gif) is on the closing titles, while they're marching toward the screen, and Paul seems to smoke something while he waits his turn...it can be noted because you can see the smoke coming out his mouth.

Oh wow - I love Help! I would have killed to have it on VCR when I was a teenager - it was THE movie as far as me and my best friend were concerned. The boys were extraordinarily beautiful and the music is excellent. Love it, love it, love it!!!
On a side note - I wish (like George said he did in the Anthology book) that they had kept the outtakes from this. George said there were hours and hours of film out there. I'd pay big bucks for that, let me tell you.

Help is definitely my favorite Beatles film. I first saw it at age 9 or so, and I was instantly hooked. I had seen AHDN, but I always preferred the utter zaniness in Help. Some favorite scenes:
--Attempt #4 (in the bathroom). I love it when Paul gets the stream of water right in the face!
--George rescuing Ringo from the trunk of the car. "Thanks for the lift, sailor!"
--That curling scene - during the recent Olympics, my sis and I kept joking about "fiendish thingies." http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/laugh1.gif
By the way, does anyone know if the deleted scenes were included in any of the video or DVD releases of "Help?" I wanna see George and the ticker-tape machine! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/angry5.gif

OH these scenes were some of my favorites, too!!! I love seeing George's shirt sucked off him in the bathroom. I also love it when he feigns jealousy during "You've got to Hide" - so very cute.

Unfortunately, I have never seen all of Help! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/cry4.gif
I have seen AHDN several times though, the first being three months ago when my town fought and were able to get it on the big screen!
Me an' me freinds are trying to start a petition to get them to play Help! there as well. (Wish us luck)
The part I have seen though, I love John's room! Soo neat, I want one like it! Ringo's snack machines are awesome too!!
And, I love the part where the evil people look at Paul and go "He's not the Beatle with the ring!"
And Paul gives that adorable face of his, "I'm not???" Sooooo very cute! Maybe soon I'll be able to see it all! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/flower.gif

How many Beatles does it take to change a light bulb?
4: John to come up with a light bulb,
Paul to claim half of the light bulb,
George to complain his lights bulbs are never considered,
and Ringo, to actually change the light bulb.

But the full scenes aren't included, correct? That bugs me, since I'd love to see all of the extra footage that didn't make it into the film. I've heard there are several other scenes, including one where the 4 of them go to an acting class, and one where Ringo milks a cow?! http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/laugh2.gif

I LOVE this movie! One of my favorite scenes was with Ringo and the tiger when Ringo says, "all the rungs have been sawed neatly down the middle!" It's a great thing to watch with other fans because nobody minds if you dance, sing along or say all the lines with the Beatles. They're doing it, too and you have folks to dance with.
I love the classic George line, "Thanks for the lift, sailor!"
Who could forget Ahme flirting with Paul. "Is not the one! Is not the Beatle with the ring. (flirts coquettishly) Unfortunately!"
And then there is the scene where the Beatles all wear Ringo masks. I always thought that since Ringo was being stalked, it would have made more sense if they all wore John or Paul or George masks instead.
I love that movie!
go to the window...go to the window...
Doesn't sound A BIT like Cagney!
Please say no more. I can say no more.
...rhythm guitar and mouth organ.
Is that you buzzing, you naughty boy?!
And the music...yeah, the music...I just love it.

You know, I was never fooled by those masks. I always knew that it was John kicking the soccer ball and it was Paul hopping around the beach. I could never understand why the bad guys were fooled into thinking it was Ringo. But I guess that's what all the fun was about, the fact that the movie never made any sense and that it had no serious messages. It is just plain fun!!

Oooh, I agree. This is the film that made me a George fan for life. I still don't know why Ahme prefered Paul... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/wink1.gif
And I really love the scene with George hanging on to the car. What a daring rescue! My hero... http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/inlove1.gif

from what i can tell, based on my limited experience of coursehttp://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/sssh.gif, it's definitely pot...the smoke just doesn't look like ciggie smoke!! what do you all think?
and since no one has yet mentioned it, i just have to say something about paul's adventures on the floor. when he slides down his trouser leg onto the floor, and we get that all too brief glimpse of his, well, assets...all i can say is ooooooooooooh!!http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/drool.gif it's a shame that gum wrapper is so big and stays on so well...the man is just too sexy!!!!http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/inlove1.gif

Help in a fantastically funny movie! In fact it was the first Beatles movie I ever owned (my Uncle gave it to me for Christmas along with the "Complete Beatles" video which is quite a good documentary) I also have the distinct memory of taking Help over to my friends house in about grade 6 and making her watch it! She quite enjoyed it...but I don't think she liked AHDN as much (maybe cause it is in black and white!)

Oh I just thought of a quick question about Help: Has anyone ever been able to read the writing when it cuts to the scene when they go to Austria? I think it is black writing against a snowy white background, and I've never been able to male out what it says!

I must have seen Help! about 100 times!
It was the first Beatles movie I watched
and I had to watch it all the time while
doing my Drama exam, when I wrote a play
about the Beatles! I can also remember
watching it when I was 7 years old! It was
funny then and is still just as funny now!
with love from me to you

I was never able to read it either, until I got the DVD. If I'm thinking of the correct scene, it says "Meanwhile, seemingly safe in the sheltering Alps."
Here's a screencap (http://beatleshelp.0catch.com/alps.jpg) if anyone's interested.

Yeah, Paul was such a sexpot. My favorite scenes were the fight scene in the Beatles' place, the ski slope ("Ticket to Ride") scene with the Fiendish Thingies, the beach scenes. My favorite lines:
"I'm into rhythm guitar and mouth organ."
"Please say no more." "I can say no more."
"Doesn't sound a bit like Cagney!"
"Thanks for the lift, sailor!"
"Get sacrificed! I don't subscribe to your religion!"
"So this is the famous Ringo?" "So this is the famous Beatles?"
"Why didn't you think of that, you twit?!"
"It was you buzzing, you naughty boy!"
I also loved that restaurant scene with the seasoned ticket and the glasses.
"Help!" was a spoof on James Bond movies.
