Hi everyone - I'm fairly new here and would like to say how much I enjoy it here already. This is a great place!
I'd also like to ask if anyone knows where I could buy copies of the boys from TV shows from the 60's. The one show I particularly want is Around the World with the Beatles (I think that's the name). It's the 60 min. special they did around 64-65 with the Shakespeare skit in it. Does anyone know if that's available?

Hello and welcome to Beatlelinks, Lisa. Have you checked out Ebay to see if anyone there is selling copies?

No, I haven't bearkat, but I will try there. I didn't even know if it was out on VHS or not.
But thanks so much for answering! I thought maybe I'd done something wrong so no one wanted to speak to me. http://www.beatlelinks.net/ubb/smilies/images/icons/smile.gif Appreciate it.

Thanks to both of you! I found it and it's heading my way today. I'm so excited. In my 24 years of personal Beatlemania, this is one of the films I've never seen.

You'll really enjoy it. I've seen it numerous times at Beatlefest, but don't think I own a copy, or if I do, it's very poor quality (I've been collecting the boys on video for over 15 years.)

I've had a video called Around The Beatles for several years. It doesn't have the Shakespeare stuff, but it does have them pretending to sing and play along to about 6 or 7 recorded tracks. The tracks themselves are different from the studio versions. I think they recorded them right before the TV special. The most famous song from this session is a really sweet version of "Shout!"

I've probably ordered the wrong video, Jerry. I won't mind because I've never seen the one you speak of either, but! I was hoping to get that "Midsummer's Night Dream" skit to show in my Shakespeare class. Oh well.. I'll have to wait and see I guess.

See if you can find "Fun with the Fab Four," lisa. I'm pretty sure that's the one with the Shakespeare skit.

I did find the Shakespeare skit - on a tape entitled "Around the Beatles and More" - it's a compilation tape I got from someone on ebay.
The skit is great. The boys are so cute! And the great thing is - they've done the best version of Pyramus and Thisby I've seen yet!
I would like to get the tape you guys are talking about though - "Fun with the Beatles". What else is on this one?

I love the Shakespeare skit; it's great.
As for what else is on that tape, I think there's some interview footage of them in Japan and maybe also in the Netherlands. I think it also has a interview with the guy who bought and cut up the Beatle bedding in a hotel that they stayed at. I have it on a tape with several other programs, so I can't remember what's on that particular program or on something else.
